Job Description:
Microchip's Design Automation (DA) team in Chandler is seeking an EDA Engineer to develop strategic EDA applications. The ideal candidate will design and implement EDA solutions tailored to customer needs, collaborating closely with business units across the globe to understand requirements and drive innovative solutions for complex challenges. Development responsibilities will span a variety of software tools, APIs, and utilities.

Responsibilities
Define display architecture, requirements along with actionable test/qualification plans
Develop simulation models and hardware test vehicles
Drive module qualification including issue failure analysis and corrective action
Collaborate with system team to drive module specification and convergence
Host regular supplier meetings to drive engineering activities to meet project milestones and convergence on any open issues
Investigate new display technologies, perform detail tradeoff studies, and generate new approaches to further enhance display performance
Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
Proficiency in optical design and simulation software for illumination (e.g., LightTools, Zemax OpticStudio Non-Sequential, Speos)
Proficiency with a data analysis and scripting language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, JMP) for modeling, simulation, and test automation
Handsāon experience with lab equipment for optical characterization (e.g., spectrometers, imaging colorimeters, goniophotometers)

This is a great opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of environmental remediation and restoration projects within the consulting environment, with a focus on remediation projects and environmental compliance. This position requires a broad educational background with an emphasis on science and engineering principals and fundamentals.
What you will do:
Successful intern can expect to get involved in systems design, hydraulic evaluation, developing design reports, construction documents and specifications, as well as construction oversight.
May work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously and candidates should possess strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
Field and office support of site investigations including soil, water, and vapor sample collection in all weather conditions
Assist project teams supporting remediation system operation
Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, quality assurance/quality control reviews, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal support, project strategy development, scheduling and cost estimate preparation.
Assist with design calculations for the selection of treatment technologies and process design drawings for groundwater, industrial, water, and wastewater
Assisting with air emissions characterization and quantification, air permitting, and compliance
The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills are also required and additional skills in AutoCAD, GIS, and programming are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a long-term interest in working in our Syracuse, NY office.
