    Job Description Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant. The coaching position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure, requiring admission to the University's Master of Education, Master of Science Learning and Talent Development, Master of Science and Sports Administration and Leadership, or Master of Business Administration programs. In addition to the academic responsibilities, the candidate will contribute to various aspects of the Strength and Conditioning program, including assisting off-season and in-season training programs and other duties assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. The person who holds this position will receive tuition remission from the University and potentially receive a campus meal plan and monthly stipend depending on degree pursued. Job responsibilities include: Retaining students through the strength and conditioning program Conducting proper instruction of activities during training, practice and competition Creating and implementing year round sport performance programs Coordinating conditioning, practice and competition schedules Ensuring team compliance with all appropriate NAIA, NSCA, CSCS and institutional rules and regulations Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with Midland University's mission and core values Other duties as assigned Need to have: Minimum of one year strength and conditioning experience Availability to work flexible schedule including some nights and weekends Knowledge of relevant NAIA rules and regulations Certification through CSCS or NSCA Bachelor's Degree Strong preference for those with: FMS Certification USAW Certification Required skills and traits: A positive attitude Strong relationship building skills A self-starter Ability to resolve issues independently Ability to teach proper technique and form Compensation: Tuition Remission in the master's program. Cultivate and track long-term athletic development of volleyball athletes. Complete daily operational tasks specified with your position on the volleyball coaching staff, including, but not limited to: scouting, recruiting, practice planning, taking on coaching responsibilities for the JV team and assisting with the varsity team, travel coordination, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Work cooperatively with faculty members, admission, alumni, and development office personnel, the sports information director, all student support services, and all athletic department personnel.
