General Information:
Job title: Clinic Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Schedule: Part-time 1, 64 hours per pay period; Monday - Thursday, scheduled between 7:30am-5:00pm
Weekend rotation: No Weekends
Holiday rotation: Paid Time Off for Holidays
Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Assistant supports provider efficiency and delivers high-quality patient care by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include rooming patients, preparing and maintaining exam rooms, assisting with procedures and immunizations, completing chart preparation, and communicating with patients by phone and through workload messages. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience.
Position Responsibilities:
Room patients: review allergies, medications, medical/surgical history, family history, and social history and take vitals.
Prepare patients for healthcare visits by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room and helping them position themselves for the examination and/or treatment.
Arrange examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Inform patients about their lab or imaging results.
Prepare the patient for surgery and prepare them for what to expect following the surgery.
Assist with ordering additional services, home health/physical therapy, DME supplies, and labs.
Responsible for charting, abstracting, entering orders, and keeping records of deliveries for CNM.
Assist the physician during exams/procedures. Set up sterile fields and instruments and assist throughout the procedure.
Call patients or pharmacies.
Prepare office/clinic space; check expiration dates and stock, and clean exam rooms between patients.
Make copies, update forms, and work with FMLA/patient forms.
Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
No prior experience or certification required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
If certified/licensed, candidates must hold and maintain either a State of Wisconsin Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certifications issued by one of the following:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
1+ years of related work experience preferred.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Intermediate proficiency with computers is required
Comprehensive medical assistant skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary:

Make copies, update forms, and work with FMLA/patient forms.
Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
No prior experience or certification required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides delegated direct nursing care to individual patients and their significant others, when appropriate. The CNA organizes the aspects of care which has been delegated to support the RN in efficiently meeting patient needs.
Education and Training Required:
Graduate from an accredited school for Certified Nursing Assistants.
Currently listed on CNA Registry in this state.
BLS certification required.
Meets health requirements.
Experience:
Ability to work in an acute care patient environment with appropriate technological support.
Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm manner.
Requires decision-making, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions as specified by Nurse Practice Act.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands:
Frequently stand, walk, and sit.
Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while transferring and positioning patients and maneuvering equipment while using gait belts and transfer devices.
Occasionally push and pull up to 25 pounds for transporting patients and moving equipment.
Occasionally bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assist with patient care or retrieve equipment or supplies.
Occasionally handle objects, smell, feel control knobs, switches and levers.
Frequently carry objects weighing 10 pounds or less.

Sight:
During a normal work shift, is able to use all sight capacities, including spatial, peripheral and depth perception, near and far vision, colors and accommodation while reviewing patient records, computer screens, gauges on patient equipment, monitors, etc.

Continually utilizes simple reading skills, normal conversations.
Occasional exposure to simpler writing skills and basic math functions.
Frequently is exposed to low-volume speech with patients and telephone conversations with other members of the healthcare team, physicians and family members.

Continual exposure to an inside, patient environment with occasional unpleasant odors or noises.
