NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Quality Inspector 2 to join our Circular Products (CP) team. The CP Quality Inspector 2 is responsible for the testing and inspection of products at various stages of production process in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Supporting first inspection through final inspection for all OEM products.
Job Title: CP Quality Inspector 2 Location: Winsted, MN Salary Range: $22.95 - 27.00 per hour (non-exempt)(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.) Shift Schedule : Weekend shift Friday - Monday 5am - 5pm Shift Differential : Weekend shift - $2.50/hour
As a Quality Inspector 2 , you will:
Perform repetitive inspection following standard methods and procedures
Visually inspect product using a variety of precision measuring instruments
Check dimensions and finishes against blueprint or work order specifications
Mark test parts with appropriate language per job specifications
Initiate accept/reject decisions and know when to call more qualified individuals for marginal evaluations
Contain defective material at source
Keep accurate inspection records
Inspect and calibrate test equipment; document dates and results
Write formal inspection reports
Lead problem solving activities to determine root cause
Assist with production as required
Assist with root cause investigation of material defects or other problem-solving activities
Read blueprints
Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
Maintains 5S guidelines
Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
Enter job data in production tracking system
Role Qualifications as a Quality Inspector 2 :
Preferred candidates will have background knowledge in inspection, be able to read a tape measure and blueprints, and use basic hand tools as well as a caliper and micrometer. Other combinations of formal training and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of industry specifications (AWS, ASTM-123, DOT, etc)
Knowledge of problem-solving activities and ability to apply those engineering/lean concepts
Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and shop floor control, applications
Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
Effective and appropriate oral communication skills including legible handwriting in English

The Role
The Quality Technician supports the quality needs of the Holland operations while carrying out both local and corporate responsibilities. This role partners closely with the Quality Manager to advance business objectives and collaborates with the broader Holland team to ensure all quality-related requirements are met.

Perform Incoming and Final Inspections as necessary
Address internal requests to initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) in a timely manner and keep the total number of open NCRs below target.
Support the Shop Floor with any Quality related requests.
Lead root cause analysis and drive the implementation of mistake proofing to eliminate and preventative actions
Complete a “5-Why” for any “Repeat” or “Escape” non-conformance.
File and maintain Quality documentation as units are produced.
Provide maintained Quality documentation upon request.
Analyze existing operations and propose cost justified improvements.
Create Certificates of Conformance when needed.
Make requested changes to ISO documentation.
Support ISO 9001 audit preparation and other various audit preparations.
Implement any relevant Quality checks and measures.
Mark and tag defective hardware as necessary.
Create customer Quality documentation binders when required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
BS Degree in Quality or Engineering preferred
3+ years of manufacturing experience in quality assurance or similar role
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints with GD&T
ISO 9001 or equivalent experience preferred
Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Quality inspection and auditing experience preferred
Ability to create/revise Quality documentation to ISO 9001 standards preferred
Self-motivated personality required
Ability to problem solve, develop, and effectively communicate solutions

Provide timely communication of EM (ATP and APC) test results that do not meet standards and ensure CAPA is completed and documented.

Production Technicians performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at established company repair site or service center.
