The Department of Natural Resources is seeking to fill one (1) Electrician position in Soudan, Minnesota. Days and hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm. The position consists of planning and performing installation, remodeling, repair and preventative maintenance of industrial electrical equipment ranging from general household 120 volt work up to 2400 volt ungrounded systems in an underground mining environment as directed by the assistant park manager and in accordance with all national, state and local electrical codes, and to provide supervision as defined by Minnesota State Electrical Code to all commercial electrical work done by DNR employees in region II.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ To plan and perform installation, remodeling, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and systems used in communications, lighting and power distribution including but not limited to, high voltage (2400 volts) distribution switch gear, transformers, transmission lines, alarm and signal circuits, high voltage electric motors, high pressure dewatering systems, variable frequency drives (VFD's) and standby generators as directed by assistant park manager or park manager and in accordance with all national, state and local electrical codes.
+ Assist with planning for future electrical needs and maintenance programs.
+ Provide electrical services to other regional facilities as requested by the field services supervisor and as approved by the park manager.
+ Assist with Soudan Mine tours, routine maintenance and the day-to-day operation of the site as needed.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Class A Master Electrician License with heavy industrial experience.
+ Three years of heavy industrial experience such as mining, oil refinery or large-scale manufacturing with experience on medium voltage from 480 V to 2400 V systems as well as work on both AC and DC industrial electric motors and switch gear.
+ Thorough knowledge of National and State Electrical codes, National Electrical Safety Code, and standard electrical practices, techniques, materials and tools.
+ Knowledge of building construction plans.
+ Ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, and specifications.
+ Knowledge of electrical formulas and mathematics relating to power factor, demand factor, horsepower, impedance, frequencies, etc.
+ Knowledge of mathematics to estimate labor and material costs.
+ Ability to work in confined spaces and 1/2 mile underground on a daily basis.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with electrical wiring systems and fixtures such as high voltage transmissions, transformers, oil circuit breakers, switching gears, insulators, lighting arrestors, VFD's and power circuits.
+ Knowledge and interest in historic 1924-era mine electrical equipment.
+ Ability to serve on the mine rescue team.
+ Ability to operate equipment including tractors, skid steer, forklift, welders, and other equipment used in park operations.

This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.

The Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center is looking to hire an Electrician Lead to our team. In this role, you will provide lead work to all staff within the maintenance department at AMRTC as well as maintaining and repairing all electrical systems and electronic equipment per federal and state electrical codes. Examples of this include but are not limited to: high voltage switch gear, transformers, secondary sub-panels, alarm and signal circuits, and standby generators and laundry/kitchen equipment for the facility physical plant. This includes responsibility for determining work methods and procedures, providing advanced assistance to the specific trade's areas, and performing the duties of those trades area staff who are on leave or otherwise unavailable.
Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.
Job Duties:
+ Plan, design, and check work performed by contract vendors and maintenance staff, to determine that work and materials meet code and standards, and to ensure the necessary permits and reviews are completed, and a record of all modifications is current.
+ Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring systems and fixtures such as outlets, switches, breaker panels, boiler controls, and lighting fixtures. Make repairs to electrical equipment and appliances such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, CRAC units, electric motors, etc.
+ Help maintain electronic security, communication and energy management systems so the facility operates smoothly and safely.
+ Maintain hand and power tools to ensure their safe, efficient use for current and future electrical projects by inspecting their physical condition.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Active Master Electrician license in the state of Minnesota

MBC Electrician Journeyperson (Municipal Building Commission)

Salary: $56.39/hour The Municipal Building Commission (MBC) is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to participate in installation, repair, and maintenance of electric power, lighting, security, life/safety and communication systems throughout the City Hall/Courthouse and Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.
The MBC has served as the steward for the historic Minneapolis City Hall and Hennepin County Courthouse (also referred to as the Municipal Building) since 1904. The MBC was created by Minnesota Statutes as an independent board for the exclusive care of the building.
In this position you will:
* Plan, complete, and fully document a wide variety of installation, repair and maintenance projects including electrical distribution, branch wiring, communications raceways, low voltage, light fixtures, wiring and conduit, switches, fire alarm systems, communication systems, fuses, breakers, switch gear, motors, motor controllers, automatic transfer switches, life/safety systems, security systems, etc.
* Use test instruments and test equipment of the trade in locating and diagnosing electrical malfunctions in addition to testing electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
* Perform preventive maintenance on switchgear, busways, panels, breakers, and transfer switches, as scheduled or required.
* Install and repair security equipment; perform preventive maintenance for building electronic life/safety systems as scheduled or required.
* Ensure timely project cleanup to minimize hazards and remove old or abandoned conduit and wiring.
* Review, interpret and implement work according to drawings and specifications.
* Demonstrate regular and consistent job attendance.
Minimum Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Successful completion of a State of Minnesota approved electrician apprenticeship program.
* Current State of Minnesota Class A Journeyperson Electrician license.
Minimum Experience:
* Minimum of 7 years of Journeyman Electrician experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience to recognize and manage the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
* Demonstrated knowledge of current national and local electrical codes.
* Experience in fire alarm work.
* OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
* First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minnesota Class A Master Electrician License.
* OSHA 30 Certification.
Skill in:
* Verbal and written communication, organizational, and conflict resolution.
* Computer work includes work management systems, key control systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Team's and Word.
