    About The Job: The EMT role responds to emergency and non-emergency requests, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) as needed, and transports sick or injured persons to the appropriate medical facility. The EMT may work with a Paramedic or other EMS personnel. The EMT complies with appropriate state of Iowa Department of Public Health Standards and regulations. The EMT adheres to MCEMS/MCRHC values and operates as an extension of the organization. The Shift: 24 hours a week Hours: Works Sunday through Saturday, including Holidays. Pay: $17.75, increases with experience. Qualifications Education: * Current state EMT certification as required by the state of this posting. * Current BLS certification card * Preference for NREMT certification * BLS Instructor preferred. Experience: * Previous healthcare or Ambulance experience preferred. Special Skills & Aptitude: * If over 21 years of age; current state Driver's License in good standing and insurable * If over 21 years of age; satisfactory driving record in accordance with the MCEMS Driving Policy. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care. * Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence. * Ensure that all required Certifications are current and remain current. * Attend all MCEMS required OSHA training, annual training, and all mandatory Company updates. * Complete the training in the allotted time the Company sets. * Maintain knowledge about job and medical field. Performs general nursing assistant duties and able to work with the age specific populations according to the age and setting. Registers patients in the Emergency Department and Registration area, enters charges and completes hospital-required paperwork. Assists in Medical-Surgical and SDS/Operating Room area as needed and training completed. What you will do: * Provides competent patient care to the above-indicated patient populations by obtaining and utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills in appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments within the ER Tech scope of practice. * Registers patient that present to the ER for services and all admission to the hospital * following registration policies and procedures.
