Full-time Description
We are currently looking for a second shift Material Handler to join the Mittera family where ideas are valued, and internal mobility is promoted! In our production facilities, Material Handlers find products on shelves, wrap or package them appropriately, and place them on delivery trucks; they may also take products off of trucks and put them on shelves. Thanks to our material handlers, customer orders can be fulfilled and moved quickly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks
Reads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned job
Obtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and materials to be shipped and for those received
Packs materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specifications
Identifies contents and number of pieces of shipments on all boxes, cartons, or skids, using proper labeling methods
Checks accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents
Utilizing the shipping system to process shipments, including packages and skids
Scheduling delivery trucks for on-time shipments
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
1 - 3 years of previous material management experience preferred
Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and any other lift equipment required for the job (following appropriate training)
Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
Ability to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines
Be organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision

Position Overview
Execute safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the shipping department at the Sheboygan site. The operator must safely load and ship bulk outbound material into tank trucks, totes and drums, receive and transport to storage inbound material from both internal and external customers. This includes relocation of trailers around the plant using a capacity spotter. The shipper must also clean their work are and make minor repairs or adjustments.
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, including Overtime as required to include days/nights/weekends
Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
* 2 years' work experience - industrial environment preferred
* Strong communication skills and ability to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately.
* Troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to use a computer effectively with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer's literature, diagrams, or schematics.

* Apply the proper order packing slip to the pallet within customer compliance guidelines
* Maintain records of orders / packing slips / pallets loaded on each trailer
* Verify wave number, pallet number, and carrier designated by the load manifest to ensure accurate selection and movement of product.
* Review all compliance guidelines as indicated by the system.
* Provide feedback to warehouse supervisor on matters concerning warehouse operations and recommend measures to improve work methods
* Retain knowledge of account requirements to prevent the occurrence of compliance failures.

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Tow Motor Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The Tow Motor Operator will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum's Customer 1st Philosophy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
The general purpose of the Tow Motor Operator is to keep material and scrap moving to and from the fabrication area so production can be continuous. The Tow Motor Operator checks in delivery trucks, unloads the material, and keeps it organized in the yard inventory. They manage scrap trailers and work on a schedule to get pickups for various material scrap.
Coordinates and delivers material from stock locations to supply fabrication machining and bending needs.
Insures all work centers have the needed Materials/Supplies to ensure production is made on time and complete.
Assisting the Scheduler that we are producing product to the schedule, insuring a constant flow through Fabrication meeting customer demands.
Must move or transport materials from one department to another, manually or using material handling equipment (Forklift, hub-tech and crane certified).
Assist team lead (when necessary) with organization, quality verification, and quantity moves of finished goods prior to going out of fabrication.
Utilize technology to review job requirements, report production, and to produce labels or reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized work place.
Performs any and all other duties assigned by management
