Primary Responsibilities: * Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment vehicles to include, but not limited to light-duty, heavy-duty, and Redi-Mix trucks, backhoes, loaders, and miscellaneous equipment. * Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals. * Replaces suspension arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bars, etc. * Repair hydraulic and air brake systems. * Determine the nature and extent of repairs required. * Perform major and minor repairs on engines, power transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic components. * Use technical manuals and other publications to identify and order repair parts. * Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects. * Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic skills. * Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before being released to the field. * Complete welding, run overhead crane, lifts, and jacks. * Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).
