Primary Purpose
To complete training on department aspects ensuring food quality, food safety, compliance with S.O.P.s, compliance with FSIS Regulatory, Animal Welfare, and GFSI requirements where product compliance to both internal and customer specifications is key. Animal Welfare requirements and product compliance with specifications. Will become qualified to work specialized areas and demonstrate abilities to progress to higher level QA positions. Work with both supervision and co-worker assistance in the live receiving, live storage, picking and evisceration areas and learn how to execute, gain understanding of the whys and function accurately. Demonstrate knowledge through written testing, direct observation, and demonstrating accuracy.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor the production process, which assures that the product meets the establishment specifications. When product doesn't meet specifications, inform the supervisor immediately and take appropriate steps.
Calibrate tools and equipment. Perform technical special projects and assignments. Train and cross-train.
Perform and record regulatory, SSOP, SOP, and Quality Attribute testing and checks; communicate results to management.
Coordinate time management to perform tasks, participate in training and development to increase competency and commitment.
Follow all Company safety regulations and S.O.P.s, as well as support Goal Zero mission statement.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to follow directions/training. Advanced training will be provided to increase competencies.
Must be familiar with computers.

Supervise and directs a team of hourly technicians in performing duties to comply with the facility Quality and Food Safety programs. Supervise, train, monitor/shadow, and analyze activities & documentation of technicians who are actively monitoring, verifying, and pre-shipment reviewing of those associated programs and the products produced under them. Enforces good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and other quality related policies in order to meet product quality standards. Duties/Activities Required by Job
Responsible for GMPs, HACCP, SSOP, and Perquisite Programs. Ensure records that are recorded by QA and Production accurate and timely. Responsible for ensuring quality technicians are conducting Swab verification of the equipment during Preop.
Ensure goals and objectives are achieved pertaining to safety, quality, productivity and cost. Identify opportunities for improvement, share with management.
Assure results data from all inspections are recorded on appropriate forms& clearly communicated to processing and QA management and for publication in consolidated quality report. SSOP reports daily, PDR reports monthly, TQS report Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments.
Develop QA technicians, responsible for corrective action of direct reports counseling, discipline, planning, monitoring and appraising work performance, recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency.
Responsible for the safety and health of team members, which includes, but is not limited to, safety, health awareness and training, accident prevention and incident investigations, and safe work practices.
Educations/Experience Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Life Science Field (Biology, Microbiology, Pathology, Food Science) or 2+ years Food Processing Experience with QA, HAACP, Quality Control

* Perform routine physical checks, tests, and audits of raw materials, in-progress items, and finished product.

Key Functions

Key responsibilities as an Engineering Technician:
* To ensure effective handover of information across shift
* Uses PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA)
* To diagnose faults and to test , repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment
* To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data
* Contact OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on site
* Lead shift based problem solving where corrective actions aren't clear
* Working as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician
* Coaching of operators with asset care tasks
* Identify & implement Improvements
* Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations
* Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100 year fix
* Use and support departmental 5s programmes for workshops and stores
