Responsibilities + Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required by the contract. + Exercises surveillance and control over detainees maintains order and discipline. + Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility. + Provides care, custody and control of detainees. + Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures. + Guards' detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, while receiving medical care. + Required to duty carry one of the authorized intermediate weapons (Intermediate weapons should be used in accordance with Service approved Use of Force policy). + Inspects, maintains, and cares for authorized equipment including but not limited to: + One approved semi-automatic pistol with appropriate duty belt and magazines. + All magazines loaded to full capacity. + Handcuffs/leg irons and keys, waist chains, black boxes, and restraint keys. + Ballistic vests which must be worn at all times while performing armed officer duties. + Requalify with weapon quarterly. + Makes official entries in the transportation and processing logbooks that are legible and complete. + Conducts a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer. + Performs complete vehicle inspections prior to and following every transportation route. + Inventories all equipment and notate the results in the log book. + Receives all authorized equipment and ensure that it is in proper working condition. + Ensures that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery. + Augments staff as needed at the Aguadilla SPC, San Juan Staging Facility and LMMIA operations as required. + Attends to housing, feeding, and the physical well-being of detainees, 24 hours a day. + Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures. + Completes all training and job requirements. + Follows company-wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other Company Safety Policies. + Perform other duties as assigned.
