What you'll do:
The Production Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.
* Assemble panelboards and/or switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with the use of hand and power tools.
* Inspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes.
* Use various tools, such as wire strippers and plyers to perform the electrical wiring assembly of panelboards and/or switchboards.
* Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages.
* Receive and put away material; prepare finished products for shipment.
* Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health. Maintain equipment, tools, and work area per established 5S guidelines.
* Cross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered).

Building Operations

The MaintenanceTechnician is responsible for performing all assigned maintenance tasks to ensure that the property meets safety, appearance, and operational standards. Regularly conduct inspections of and ensure that apartments, building systems, common areas, and grounds meet Vesta quality standards and expectations, by correcting any deficiencies.
Report any maintenance or physical property needs to the Property Manager and/or lead maintenance personnel for work order input.
Responsible for handling, completing, and documenting all assigned service requests/work orders, ensuring that our residents' maintenance needs are met properly, quickly, thoroughly, and professionally. Maintenance and repair may include plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, carpeting, drywall, worn or defective parts, grounds, and electrical systems. May be responsible for pool maintenance, depending on property needs.

Make Ready:

Prep assigned unit for painting and flooring.
Timely and thorough completion of assigned items on make ready punch list, including, but not limited to; cleaning, painting, flooring, caulking, wall prep, removal and cleaning/replacement of receptacle and switch plate covers and light fixture bulbs, and holes in walls.
While completing make ready punch list, inspect and report any additional maintenance needs including repairs or replacements not initially noted. Complete any additional tasks that are within manageable skill set.
After final maintenance, painting, and floor work, the MaintenanceTechnician may be responsible for the last “sparkle”/touch prior to final move in ready inspection.
Ensure ready apartments are inspected daily, communicate and input any new maintenance needs, and inform leasing of ready unit status for prospect showings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Assist in the process of making all units ready for move-in.
* Respond to all resident work order requests to quickly diagnose and correct any air conditioning, heating, appliance, carpentry, electrical and plumbing issues.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems.
* Inspect the community daily to identify any items that need maintenance or repair.
* Clearing snow and ice during inclement weather.
* Work a flexible schedule and share on-call duty which requires responding to emergencies in 30 minutes or less.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)
* High-school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of maintenance experience in apartments, hotels or similar environment with the highest standards of service, integrity, creativity, and teamwork.
* Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC equipment and appliances and working knowledge of plumbing fixtures, basic electrical circuitry, carpentry, and be skilled in the use of power and hand tools (service technicians supply their own hand tools).
* Posses a valid driver's license and dependable transportation including on-call hours.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds including supplies and appliance.

The salary range for this position is $46,280 to $49,920 annually. JBG SMITH offers a bonus program, renewal incentives, and a competitive benefits package; including up to $5,200 annual reimbursement for professional development opportunities.

**Summary**
This role directs and coordinates the Steam and Refrigeration needs for the factory's continuous production to ensure maximum operating efficiency in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Ensures that the plant policies and procedures are administered and followed in a fair and consistent manner.
+ Ensure that Supervisors/Leads follow company procedures for dealing with internal threat/security situations. Help enforce consistent adherence to security practices by employees. Uses information from supervisors and others who best know the employees involved in any security or threatening situation.
+ Conduct oneself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the Company.
+ Is responsible to attend and participate in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
+ Ensures that the interface with subordinates and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style that is conducive with the operations goal.
+ Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and Divisional standards.
+ Ensures the parts inventory for boiler/refrigeration equipment is adequate to meet maintenance needs. Responsible for PSM program, leads the factory Process Safety Management Team and is responsible for organization, meetings and improvements. Is involved with PSM audits, mechanical integrity audits and maintains compliance with all state and local codes/regulations.
+ Directs the steam/refrigeration function to assure the maximum operating efficiencies are maintained to meet maximum production, quality, and grade while minimizing downtime, accidents and costs.
**Typical Education**
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
**Relevant Experience**
3+ years related experience and/or training

Knowledge: Good understanding of steam and refrigeration systems and how they work. Minimum concepts and information within the range of understanding and comprehension required to perform the job.
