Description of Work
To provide direct psychological services within the Adult Admissions Unit. This work includes emergency services, diagnostic evaluations, capacity restoration services, group and individual therapy services, and other treatment services for severely disturbed adults who reside in the eastern region of the state.

Salary Range: $64,211 - $105,949

This position is located in the Mental Health Special Services- Home Based Primary Care Service at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. The duties and responsibilities are carried out in CBOC HBPC team office, at the medical center, and in veteran's homes. The Psychologist at this level functions as the primary mental health provider of the HBPC team, providing mental health prevention, assessment, treatment, management, and professional consultation services.
The Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) mission is to provide comprehensive, interdisciplinary, primary care in the homes of veterans with complex medical, social, and behavioral conditions for whom routine clinic-based care is not effective. The primary responsibility for this position will be to provide a full range of psychological services to HBPC patients, including screening; psychological, cognitive, and capacity assessments; psychotherapy; and prevention-oriented services. Mental health treatment and prevention oriented services emphasize evidence-based and best practice approaches to support HBPC patients manage psychological factors associated with behavioral medicine problems and to promote medical compliance. The HBPC psychologist functions as a fully integrated member of the HBPC interdisciplinary team and provides ongoing team consultation services to other HBPC team members.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Licensed Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health services for the inmate population at SCI Phoenix. Your responsibilities will include administering and interpreting a variety of psychological assessments to evaluate different aspects of an individual's mental health. In addition, you will be responsible for conducting individual assessments through clinical interviews and preparing reports as needed. This role involves delivering essential crisis intervention and therapy services to the inmate population, handling cases as assigned or referred.
