Description of Work The Charge Nurse position is located at Brown Creek Correctional Institution in Polkton, North Carolina. Brown Creek CI houses up to 916 male offenders in a minimum custody facility. The Charge/Lead Nurse provides professional nursing care/treatment to patients in accordance with medical protocols in a supervisory capacity. Employees in this role are responsible for managing and supervising daily nursing care on an assigned shift or assigned area, or in a preceptor role, coordinating all licensed and non-licensed staff. There is a greater emphasis in independent practice and advanced clinical knowledge/skills. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Nurse Supervisor. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A $7,500 SIGN-ON BONUS. To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act.
