Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Interpersonal Skills: Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Other Skills Technical Skills: Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server and Windows Client environments. Hands-on experience with Azure networking components (VNETs, NSGs, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute). Familiarity with Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and geo-redundant storage for disaster recovery. Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues across hybrid environments (on-prem and Azure). Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell and Azure CLI; experience with workflow automation desirable. Understanding of identity and access management in Azure (Azure AD, Conditional Access). Exposure to AI-driven monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud) for proactive issue resolution. Soft Skills: Ability to create clear documentation and deliver findings in presentation format. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective collaboration with IT, Risk, and Enterprise Architecture teams. Schedule: This Cloud Network Engineer will have remote capabilities, but will be required to periodically be onsite in Roanoke, Virginia.
