Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (Urology Practice) (Bilingual English/Spanish) Location: Washington Heights, NY Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hr days, Mon-Fri 7:30a-6p Organization: New York Health (NYH) In This Role, You Will: Set up procedural spaces, Sterilize instruments for urologic procedures Assist physician with exams and/or procedures Update and maintain all electronic patient records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format Manage Physician inbox and prioritize tasks assigned via ONCO EMR Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed Record patient information such as vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history before each appointment Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Escort patients to exam rooms Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests Prepare and administer Injections Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens Perform basic lab tests Administer and document medication under a physician's order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error We Require: Current NYS LPN license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals. Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) (Urology Practice) Location: Port Jefferson, NY Hours/Days: 4/10s- RDO Tues; 7:30am-6:00pm Organization: New York Health (NYH) In this role, you will: Create individualized care plans for patients under your supervision and care. Monitor and chart vital signs, weight, and height. Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge Assist physician with exams and/or urologic procedures Sterilize surgical instruments Prepare and administer injections Provide supportive resources to the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook. Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations. Watch and record the patient's progress on a constant basis Chart the patient's response to treatment and medication. Complete MAR after treatment. Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care. We require: Valid New York State RN License 1 + years of procedural experience (required) Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with an EMR (preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
