Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC) is among the largest and most prominent in the nation. The department offers Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in both Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Aerospace Engineering (AE). The department also offers accelerated BS/MS degrees in both programs. Wright Distinguished Professorship in Urban Entomology. This is a 9-month tenure-track position open to applicants of all ranks with the successful candidate appointed at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The incumbent will support the University's mission, vision, and values through their research (70%), teaching (20%), extension (10%), and service activities. Research * Develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program, to improve the quality of life for humankind through improved management of indoor and peridomestic arthropod pest populations. * This program is expected to reduce health risks related to structural pests (excluding termites and other wood-destroying organisms) with particular emphasis on housing, hospitals, food service, and food processing. * Conduct One Health-aligned research on indoor pest management in agricultural settings (e.g., poultry houses, livestock buildings). * Research that encompasses the missions of Global One Health and the Center for Human Health and the Environment addressing urban pest management issues locally, nationally and in developing countries.
