Mental Health Therapist II
Connection Community Counseling Program
Lifeline Services is hiring a Bilingual Mental Health Therapist to support our growing team. You will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy and case management to youth experiencing homelessness and their families. Services are offered at clients' homes, in the community, at Lifeline's clinic sites and via Zoom. Our clinicians use a wide variety of counseling modalities and work in a culturally sensitive manner. The position is supervised by the Program Manager, and clinicians receive weekly group and individual supervision. Associate level clinicians gain hours towards licensure. Most positions are based in San Diego but there are North County positions available too. This is a direct service role that will help our team support vulnerable youth in reaching their goals!
We're looking for a candidate who is able to connect with vulnerable youth, especially teenagers and young adults. This role requires organizational skills, flexibility and teamwork, as the Therapist manages a complex schedule and works as part of the treatment team.
Required Qualifications
BBS registration required - AMFT, ACSW, or APCC.
Experience providing mental health services to youth or young adults.
Ability to connect with adolescents and young adults while maintaining effective professional boundaries.
Available 2-3 evenings per week until 7 PM (will start later on these days)
Available to meet youth in their home or other community locations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organization, time management and clinical documentation skills.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities
Conducts Behavioral Health Assessments and completes Treatment Plans.
Provides individual, family and group counseling.
Provides case coordination with other professionals including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, psychologists, IEP coordinators, schools, social workers, etc.
Provides crisis management consultation and education, with a specific goal of removing barriers to a sustainable living environment.
Participates in individual weekly and group supervision.
Participates in quality assurance review processes and maintain county documentation standards.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Schedule/Compensation
FT - nonexempt position
M-F 8 hour shifts. Available 2-3 evenings to offer sessions until 7 PM.
$30-33/hour. Salary will commensurate with experience and education. Differential pay offered for bilingual skills. EEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate connections with local mental health providers to establish a network of resources.

Facilitate training among the MDT team regarding helpful practices, methods, and interventions for addressing mental health among people experiencing homelessness.

Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC), a nonprofit agency located in Norwalk, has been providing youth services in Southeast Los Angeles County since 1971 with a primary purpose of providing therapeutic counseling and assistance to at-risk, low-income children, youth and their families.
HYC has an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hour) Mental Health Clinician who will provide individual and/or family therapy to clients and/or families. The DMH Clinician will also provide clinical assessments, field-based and outreach services to clients and their families; case management and advocacy services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts family-centered, strengths-based, culturally competent individualized intakes/assessments, gathering information from family, consumer, significant other, and involved agencies in the office or the field as appropriate.
Carry a caseload of clients consisting of children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting.
Performs intake assessments and formulates diagnosis and case conceptualization.
Demonstrates ability to utilize a whole person/integrated care approach in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention
Assesses treatment progress and adapts interventions as needed
Attend and participate in program meetings, individual/group supervision
Completes Service and Coordination Plans, progress notes, and other DMH required documentation within 72 hours of service delivery and meets the standards of the Department of Mental Health Short/Doyle Medi-Cal.
Administers outcome measures to clients who have been identified to receive treatment.
Provides rehabilitative services to clients and/or their families which might include assistance in restoring or maintaining a client's functional skills, daily living skills, social skills, and linking up to needed community services and support resources.
Provides individual therapeutic services utilizing the following Evidence-based Practices (EBPs)- MAP, Seeking Safety, IPT, Triple P, IND CBT, or TFCBT.
Works with the treatment team to provide appropriate coordinated care services to clients and their families.
Provides coverage to on-call phone on a rotating basis.
Displays sensitivity to the cultural and linguistic needs of the clients and families served.

Lifeline Services is hiring a Bilingual Mental Health Therapist to support our growing team. You will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy and case management to youth experiencing homelessness and their families. Services are offered at clients' homes, in the community, at Lifeline's clinic sites and via Zoom. Our clinicians use a wide variety of counseling modalities and work in a culturally sensitive manner. The position is supervised by the Program Manager, and clinicians receive weekly group and individual supervision. Associate level clinicians gain hours towards licensure. Most positions are based in San Diego but there are North County positions available too. This is a direct service role that will help our team support vulnerable youth in reaching their goals!
We're looking for a candidate who is able to connect with vulnerable youth, especially teenagers and young adults. This role requires organizational skills, flexibility and teamwork, as the Therapist manages a complex schedule and works as part of the treatment team.
Required Qualifications

VIVA Counseling is an outpatient child, youth and family therapy program that is part of North County Lifeline. The Lead Clinician serves both in a clinical and leadership role. The position provides individual family and group therapy to youth up to age twenty 21 and their families both in- person and via telehealth. The Lead Clinician also serves an important role as team's primary trainer of clinical documentation and administrative processes. If you have experience with Medi-Cal documentation, are highly organized and enjoy coaching others, this position is a great opportunity to get leadership experience while still serving clients. All clinicians receive supervision and associates earn hours towards BBS licensure. VIVA Counseling is an outpatient child, youth and family therapy program that is part of North County Lifeline. The Lead Clinician serves both in a clinical and leadership role. Position Overview
Lifeline Services is hiring a mental health clinician to support our growing team. The mental health will be responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed school-based suicide Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) services in the North Inland and North Coastal regions. The HERE Now Program Clinician is responsible for providing education and trainings to school staff and gatekeepers to include outreach and school-wide suicide prevention education, risk assessments, individual intervention services, and care coordination with area mental health support and services. Specifically, will work with district/school employees, youth, and parents in creating an overall school environment conducive to appropriate learning for students, promoting positive mental health, stigma reduction, and suicide prevention. This is a BBS registered role that will help our team implement suicide prevention and early intervention services to schools throughout inland and coastal North County area.
We're looking for a candidate who is able to connect with youth and families using culturally sensitive and trauma informed practices. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and teamwork, since your day-to-day work will be as part of a team at schools and will require the ability to make sound clinical decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation, and delivery of culturally-competent services on middle and high school campuses and in community locations that serve children, youth and transition aged youth (TAY), with suicide prevention and early intervention services in a culturally-sensitive and culturally-competent manner.
Present an evidence-based curriculum, Signs of Suicide (including bullying prevention), to 7th- 12th grade students with the purpose of reducing risk and enhancing protective factors as well as facilitate mental health and safety trainings for parents/caregivers, district staff and community members.
Plan, coordinate and conduct trainings to school staff and gatekeepers.
Provide one-on-one safety assessments and crisis management to at-risk students and their families, while utilizing a trauma-informed care philosophy and recovery principles.
Work with the school to connect high-risk youth to selected level (psychosocial group) and individual linkages. As needed, provide individual intervention services to youth identified as "at-risk" based upon assessment.
Care coordination with area mental health support and services as well as other needed services for youth/ families with depression, other mental health problems, substance abuse or whose history of trauma would indicate a high risk for suicide or self-harm.
Work in and through the County of San Diego CSOC Principles.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff and volunteers within the program, the agency, and the community.
Participate in all required trainings and consultation/supervisions.
Attend all required agency and county trainings and meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely uniform record documentation. Maintain data collection and contract compliance of records as required.
Maintain clear, effective and open communication.
Work with school personnel and families to reduce disparities and stigma in accessing mental health services and to provide high quality services to youth and families.
Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service-partners' protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws, including HIPAA.

Classification Compliance Statement
This position is intended to be classified as exempt under the administrative exemption provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and California labor laws. To qualify as exempt, employees must meet both the duties test and the salary test, which requires earning a minimum salary of no less than twice the California minimum wage for full-time employment. The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $69,000 and offers will be made in compliance with applicable laws to ensure the exempt classification is met. If the exemption criteria are not met, the classification of this position may be subject to change to comply with applicable labor laws, and adjustments to compensation, benefits, or job responsibilities may occur as required.
