We're seeking a certified Cytotechnologist II who will support Emory Healthcare's mission of clinical care, education, and research by demonstrating the core values of excellence, caring, and integrity. This individual: Prepares and stains cytologic material for routine procedures; evaluates examination results for validity and reports results as prescribed by standard procedures. May prepare specimens for cytopathologic examination. Evaluates cytologic material for carcinoma or other diagnoses and completes all daily assigned screening. Reviews quality of staining and the adequacy of the specimen to support an adequate diagnosis. In complex cases, evaluates all information available and determines whether analysis results should be released, repeated, or referred to a pathologist. Assists the Pathologist and Radiologist on fine needle aspiration biopsy procedures and is competent in giving an adequacy assessment. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in medical technology, clinical lab science or a chemical, physical or biological science. Other bachelors degree will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school of cytotechnology or if science and math coursework meet requirement of certifying agency. Education Exception: Bachelors degree may be waived for a Cytotechnolgist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelors degree requirement by ASCP and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services. At least two years of experience. Experience in Gynecological, Non-gynecological and FNA cytology preferred. Your Job: The Cardiovascular Tech RCIS primary responsibility is to assist with technical aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures under the direction of the supervisor and physician. Shift: Days Status: PRN (Must be able to work 6 shifts per month) Department: CV Outpatient Imaging Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology proceduresaccording to all Protocols, Policies and Procedures and adhering to A.L.A.R.A. programs.Performs all quality control procedures in accordance with manufacturer, state and federalguidelines. Demonstrates ability to perform advance imaging (Cardiac and Vascular) and iscompetent/proficient with cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
