The hours are Monday to Friday 3pm to 10:30p. This position is offering a $5,000 sign on bonus to eligible candidates. Responsibilities: * Assembles routine and specialty instruments for operative procedures according to operating room standards and physician preference cards. * Organizes instruments according to specialty. * Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed. * Labels all supplies on the tray. * Inform appropriate personnel when instruments or equipment are insufficient to meet the needs of the operative schedule. * Assists team members with placing and positioning patients on the table. * Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon. * Preserves OR specimens. * Accounts for all sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation. * Functions as a second surgical assistant after completing skill checklist; under direction of the surgeon, retracts tissue, assists with wound closures, and applies surgical dressings. * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Required: * High School diploma or equivalent. * Successful completion of Surg Tech Program. * BLS American Heart Association. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
