What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course, preferred.
Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in appropriate state, required.
ACLS, PALS, BAT and DOT, preferred.

Join our team at Atrium Health University City Maternity. We are an LDRP unit with 28 beds, 1 operating room and a 4 bed triage unit. We care for our patient population throughout their pregnancy, and also support them throughout their labor process. We have 23 hour anesthesia services, and an 8 bed NICU to care for newborns at approximately 30 weeks gestation and above. We are a high functioning team that practices nursing autonomy by utilizing evidence-based practice policies and procedures to provide the best care to our patients. The Satellite department consists of 4 Med/Surg, Medical Telemetry units, totaling 34 beds. 10DE Progressive Care is a 19 bed, high acuity progressive care unit serving a diverse patient population with complex medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma needs. Patients may be admitted from any of our specialty ICUs, the Emergency Department, or transferred from any other nursing unit when a patient's status requires a higher level of care but does not require ICU care. Most patients we care for are still mechanically ventilated via tracheostomy, or require non-invasive positive pressure ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP). Many of our patients are recovering from severe critical illnesses, and require frequent monitoring and nursing interventions, complex care coordination, and intensive rehabilitation needs by physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Due to the high acuity of our population, the typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:3. All patients in the Progressive Care Unit receive continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry monitoring. Our unit has a strong culture of teamwork, quality improvement, and professional involvement within the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

Utilizes electrophysiology knowledge to safely and adjust settings and parameters on CIEDs within best practice guidelines and departmental standards.
Recognizes abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs and CRT devices through in-person evaluation and remote monitoring. Employs strategies to address and correct issues.
Communicates with Cardiac Electrophysiologists and other providers regarding CIED function, diagnostic data, and overall patient status through accurate, professional and standardized documentation.
Completes scheduling protocols for remote monitoring and in-person CIED evaluations per best practice and department guidelines
Supports regulatory processes related to CIED billing, compliance, and advisory/recall management.
Ensures accurate billing codes and procedural information is provided for patient encounters.
Supports and contributes to the Patient Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every teammate is a Caregiver whose role is to meet the needs of the patient.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree with suitable experience in a related field such as nursing, medicine, electronics or engineering required. Successful completion of a Cardiac Device Rhythm Management course or equivalent experience required. Minimum of one year of recent cardiac device management experience required or comparable clinical training. BLS required per policy guidelines. ACLS required per policy guidelines. Maintains 10 device related education hours per year required. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required by the department.

Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.

May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
