Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Affiliate I. This position offers a stimulating professional growth opportunity at the interface of microbiome science, metabolomics, toxicology, and human health under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator. The Research Affiliate I will work with a Principal Investigator to to develop their post-doctoral research skillset by investigating how gut microbes biotransform environmental pollutants and dietary compounds, and how these microbial transformations influence pollutant toxicity and disease-relevant pathways, including carcinogenesis and systemic toxicity.
The incumbent will contribute to designing, performing, analyzing, and presenting experiments to evaluate the biological effects of microbial metabolites on human cancer cell lines, organoid models, and mouse models. Experimental approaches include cell migration, invasion, cytotoxicity, genotoxicity assays, and gene expression profiling (qPCR, RNA/DNA extraction), as well as advanced metabolomics using high-resolution mass spectrometry platforms such as QTOF and Orbitrap. The Research Affiliate I will integrate multi-omics data to elucidate mechanisms by which microbial biotransformation modulates pollutant toxicity and disease-relevant pathways. The incumbent will maintain detailed laboratory records, contribute to manuscript preparation, perform rigorous data analysis, and assist with training junior staff. The role also involves maintaining and operating key laboratory instruments and shared resources.

Advanced MS Office skills
Knowledgeable with OSHA requirements and safety practices
Must be flexible and have a “hands-on” approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent organization, communications, and computer skills
Ability to motivate, provide leadership and create a team environment.
CAD Modeling (e.g. Autocad / Solidworks)
Previous experience in a highly regulated environment is a plus
Experience managing and leading a project / maintenance / engineering team preferred
1-3 years automation engineering experience within controlled substance manufacturing industry preferred
Familiarity with Software Qualification (GAMP 5) and CQV (FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ) preferred

The incumbent will lead, coordinate, and participate in all phases of epidemiologic research and statistical analysis, including work to examine patterns, trends, risks, and causes of disease. How you will contribute:

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
The kennel tech is responsible for the care, feeding, medicating and cleaning of our patients in hospital, and our clients in the boarding facility. This job involves cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, and medicating. You are responsible for restocking hospital supplies, helping with post-operative patients, assisting doctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. You will be responsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal is in our care. You will be trained to clean and sterilize surgical instruments.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
* Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
* Proper methods of animal restraint.
* Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
* Perform moderately heavy physical labor (large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods, etc).
* Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injured animals.
* Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
* Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
* Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job.
