Job Summary:
Provide nursing care to a defined group of patients, adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington ambulatory Nursing Care Standards, the Nursing Code of Ethics and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington policies. Coordinate and facilitate Health Care services for the patient in other segments of the Health Care delivery system. Provide and coordinate nursing care for the patient in collaboration with the Health Care team. The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the Health Care team, overseeing and participating in patient assessment and the formulation and implementation of the care plan.
The Hospital Float Pool RN will provide care in a fast-paced ED/Urgent Care and in a Med Surg Tele unit that is increasing its level of care for higher acuity patients.
ED/Urgent Care:
Patient population will include all ages with a variety of chief complaints ranging from neurological, cardiac, and minor injury or illness.
Must be able to quickly prioritize and use critical thinking and clinical judgement to provide emergent and urgent care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with providers and other Urgent Care staff to provide high-quality patient care, are key.
Med Surg Tele Care:
Patient population includes admits from PACU and ED/UC that require extended observation or admission, along with direct admits.
Must be able to interpret cardiac rhythms and identify changes from baseline.
Patient and team focused.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with providers and teams that include CNA-s, MA-s, Respiratory Techs, HUC, Monitor Tech, Pharmacy and Lab, along with other departments, i.e., ED/UC, OR, PACU, SPU/Endo, IR, etc.
Essential Responsibilities:
Using the nursing process provides ongoing assessment of the nursing care needs of a defined group of patients. Uses nursing diagnosis to describe this assessment. Develops a written plan of care for patient care needs. Assist patients and families/significant others in developing health care goals which are part of the individualized plan of care. Determines priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources. Provides nursing interventions safely and competently. Provides the patient and family/significant others with information preceding interventions. Provides telephone consultation to patients and family/significant others Provides ongoing evaluation of the patient-s response to care. Anticipates and recognizes changes in the patient-s status and need for nursing care. Modifies the individual plan of care in collaboration with the health care team.
Demonstrates understanding of the physiological and psychological effects of normal aging by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care to meet the needs of those populations served. Demonstrates effective communication skills with those specific age populations served. Identifies own learning needs and participates in educational programs related to those age-specific patient populations served (Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Geriatric). Collaborates, communicates and coordinates with other health care team members in planning and implementing care. Assesses the needs of designated patients requiring hospitalization; initiates nursing admission database and discharge planning in collaboration with inpatient staff and physician. Cooperates and communicates effectively with other team members in order to accomplish the workload.
Communicates recognition of the patients and family/significant others psychosocial, cultural and emotional needs in each nurse-patient interaction. Orients patients and family/significant others to the role of the professional nurse and other health care team members, the nursing services available, and the means of access to those services. Reinforces orientation to the Consumer Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. Identifies the patient-s educational needs as part of the nursing assessment. Develops an educational component for each nursing care plan. Provides teaching/counseling congruent with patients and family/significant others learning needs and the medical plan of care. Encourages patient compliance with therapeutic and medical regimens. Teaching is based on scientific and behavioral knowledge.
Assesses patient lifestyle risk factors. Integrates health promotion and preventive aspects of care with the ongoing assessment of nursing care needs. Works with patient to develop a plan to improve general health status. Implements physical and psychological preventive measures. Provides a safe environment for each patient and adheres to KFHPW safety standards. Perform basic infant care procedures, lifting, turning, transporting, and positioning. Providing personal hygiene care, changes linens, clothing, and feeds infants to include NG/ OG, PO, G-tube feedings.
Support, assist and instruct breast feeding Mothers to promote maximum nutritional needs based on Mothers' desire to breast feed.
Set up or assist in setting up and use specialized equipment such as ventilator support oxygen delivery systems, drainage suction devices, hypothermic units, and infusion pumps.
Mix and administer prescribed medication orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intravenously.
Serve as a resource person whom other critical care nurses and other health providers consult when particularly difficult problems in care of critically ill patients arise.
Serves as a member of the Neonatal Resuscitation Team; attends high-risk deliveries and initiates neonatal resuscitative measures as directed.

The CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY NURSE specializes primarily in the care of patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiac procedures, insertion of permanent and temporary pacemakers, and insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps. The nurse is responsible for the operation of specialized equipment in a safe and efficient manner, assisting in diagnostic catheterization, and interventional cardiac procedures, and patient care during the procedure. The nurse works under the direct supervision of the physician and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory manager or supervisor.

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
LICENSURE
Current and unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
EXPERIENCE
At least one year experience as a cardiac catheterization laboratory nurse in a clinical setting.
CREDENTIALS:
Advanced CPR credentials, such as ACLS; NALS may be required for cardiac catheterization nurses working with the pediatric population; health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Various client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with ATC policies/procedures.
Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures.

Maintains confidentiality relative to patient care and facility practices in accordance with the

Assists physician with non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
Assists physician with invasive diagnostic procedures, such as cardiac catheterization.
Assists physician with invasive interventional procedures, such as permanent pacemaker insertion.
Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs and meets state specific requirements.
Complies with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice as set forth by the American Nurses Association or equivalent nursing organization.

OVERVIEW:
The Regional Nurse is a key clinical leader responsible for supporting multiple skilled nursing facilities within a designated region. This role exists to ensure consistency in care quality, regulatory alignment, and clinical standards across locations. By serving as a central clinical resource and advisor, the Regional Nurse helps strengthen facility performance, enhance resident outcomes, and uphold the organization's commitment to excellence.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Regional Nurse provides hands-on clinical support, oversight, and leadership to facility nursing teams. This includes conducting routine site visits, reviewing clinical practices, coaching clinical leaders, assisting with regulatory preparation, and implementing improvement initiatives. The position plays a critical role in identifying challenges, guiding corrective actions, promoting staff development, and ensuring each facility operates effectively and in compliance with all clinical requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage and assist in management of survey process
Reviews medical and other pertinent records to determine compliance with standards of practice and regulations
Provides further education, training and guidance as needed
Regularly observes nursing practices for compliance with standards of nursing practice and federal, state and local regulations
Prepares reports of findings, recommendations and assists with quality improvements
Provides information and guidance in the development of policies and standards of nursing practice for new programs
Observes that residents are provided with a comfortable, clean, orderly and safe environment
A Regional Nurse Consultant may be required to assume the role of interim DON, as needed
Available as needed for emergencies that supervisory personnel cannot handle
Follows up on completion of Dietary Consultant Reports, Pharmacy Consultation Reports and other facility consultant reports for appropriate and timely action by facility
Follows up with DON and Administrator on Quality Assurance recommendations
Other Duties as Assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Current RN license
Preferred experience as a Director of Nursing at a Skilled Nursing Facility
Experience as a Regional / Clinical Skilled Nursing RN Consultant is preferred
Regulatory knowledge
Experience in geriatrics is a plus
