Reporting to a Lead Person or the Packaging Supervisor, the PackagingOperatoroperates a range of manual or automated packaging equipment to package product for shipment and acts in accordance with the Core Values of Oil-Dri.
Responsibilities:
Operates one or more of the following types of equipment: filler, baler, bag closure, stacker or palletizer, labeler, sewing machine, stretch and bale wrappers, shrink wrappers, conveyor, robotic bag placers, date coders, heat sealer, case and pale sealer, case erector & weigh scales.
Performs multiple of manual tasks such as: stacking, labeling, weighing, reworking, wrapping, case erecting, de-nesting, lid in-placement, bag insertion, threading of tape machine, magazine loading, and bulk bag filling as necessary.
Sets-up equipment, makes minor adjustments to equipment as necessary, performs daily inspections and keeps equipment clean and in good working order.
Inspects supplies such as jugs, boxes, and pallets to insure useable quality and quantity levels are present and to inventory levels
Samples packaged product to verify it meets specifications. Identifies non-conformance events and takes appropriate actions. Periodically weighs product to ensure eight specifications are met. Documents results.
Input environmental, production, shipping, downtime, etc. information on computer and/or handwritten reports.
Required to practice safe work habits and use proper safety equipment per job requirements. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Must satisfactorily participate in all corporate and local polices in regards to safety; such as the Taft STOP program, reporting near misses and/or adhering to the principles of SHE Pillar. Obey all Company, State, and Federal safety policies, rules and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Pass the pre-employment tests at required results (WPT, Quantitative, verbal, BMCT, etc.)
Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents.
Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to understand and communicate all safety requirements and other communications.
Must be able to use technology to evaluate/communicate the status of the process/product.
Must be able to visually differentiate between different products and be able to hear warning alarms.
Must be able to read, understand and complete the following: production schedules, bin check reports, quality defect tags, safety checks, production reports, defective product tags, product waste reports, and placards both raw and finished.
Must be able to comprehend and follow quality management systems
Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Carry/lift 50lbs for the duration of the shift if necessary.
Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently. Must be able to climb ladders to significant heights up to 20 feet.
Must be able to shovel and sweep in a dusty area using the provided dust masks
Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
Must be able to talk and hear radio communication.

* Performs the safe operation of a manual or powered pallet jack, also will be required to operate power lift equipment including specialized (narrow-aisle) equipment including but not limited to Forklifts. Require 6-12 months minimum driving experience.

The Repack Associate - Day-to-Day:

-Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process for correctness. Report all discrepancies to supervisor.

-Measure quantities of chemicals via laboratory apparatus for liquids, powders, and solids.
Safely and efficiently clean lab apparatus and equipment return to appropriate storage locations.
Stack finished products onto skids either individually or boxed. Move products throughout warehouse through the use of pallet jacks, cart, or hand truck.
Organize work to efficiently and accurately produce multiple Production Orders at the same time
Record work order information via computer such as production process time and date packaged.
Use computer and/or scanning gun to create labels for finished products. Mark items with the appropriate Flinn Item # when necessary.

Essential Requirements
Ability to follow directions and work independently in a manner that will ensure the employee and teams safety.

Job Description:
Ensure finished product is packaged in accordance with procedures and Quality specifications.
Inspect in-process packaging, components to ensure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of manufacturing activities related to product packaging, including but not limited to device history records and inventory counts.

Performs a count or weighs each carton, container or pallet to ensure the proper amount and product is packaged, places product literature in container, closes and seals container and places container on pallet or in staging area.
Operates a casing machine to seal containers, shrink wrap machine to wrap pallets and regrind mill.
Record information such as weight, time, date and completes identification tickets.
Understands plant labeling requirements and sees that all chemicals are properly labeled and managed.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Performs equipment and area cleaning following current SOPs.
* Performs set-up of crimping torqueing, shrink-seal, labeling, packaging, off-torque testing and other equipment and ensures that they operate within specifications outlined in SOPs.
* Performs bottle cap off-torque inspection
* Maintains and ensures completeness and accuracy of all documentation associated to work performed.
* Ability to navigate through electronic documentation system.
* Responsible for transactions associated with components and supplies used for batch; to maintain inventory accuracy.
* Follow line clearance requirements to maintain cGMP and cGLP in all work areas.
* Moves finished product into quarantine storage area.
* Prepares bottle, vial and cap using autoclave and dry heat oven.
* Documents production data by completing the batch record, forms, reports and logs.
* Maintains work area and performs necessary housekeeping duties.
* Maintains safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; complying with safety guidelines and regulations.
* Assures that correct samples are collected and forwarded to QC.
* Assures that all logbooks are maintained and that all required documentation is properly filled out in a timely manner.
* Assembles boxes for packaging and labeling.
* Reviews the schedule ahead of time and performs timely staging of required materials.
* Suggests changes in departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
* Performs other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
Required Skills/Education:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Good work history
* Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

•Unload and load trailers, verify Bill of Lading (BOL)/packing slips, fill out documents for incoming and outgoing trailer sheets, and scan products in to Vista Trac.
•Scan product, film, and any other materials into batch to maintain precise inventory in Vista Trac.

•Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for the job.
