Manual Packaging Operator operates a range of manual packaging equipment to package material for shipment. Responsibilities: * Operates one or more of the following types of equipment: filler, OMW, sewing machine or glue closure, or stacker.
* Set-up equipment, perform daily inspections, and make minor adjustments to the equipment as necessary.
* Ensures the process safely drives quality and production to standards/targets.
* Samples packaged product to verify it meets standards.
* Identifies non-conformance events, documents event, and takes appropriate actions.
* Periodically weighs product packages to ensure weight specifications are met.
* Inspects supplies such as bags, bulk bags, and pallets to ensure useable quality and quantity levels are present and to inventory levels.
* Interacts with the computer systems for compliance, reporting, and machine set-up.
* Observes all safety rules, regulations, and precautions.
* Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
* HS Diploma or equivalent.
* Must meet the assessment requirements for this position.
Skills & Abilities:
* Must be able to use technology to evaluate/communicate the status of the process/product and must pass computer literacy assessment.
* Must be able to understand and act upon all safety and environmental requirements and other related communications.
* Must be able to visually differentiate between products and be able to hear audible alarms, instructions, and commands.
* Must be able to read and understand Bill of Lading.
* Must be able to efficiently interact with and use computer systems.
* Must be able to comprehend and follow quality management system.
* Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift
* Must be able to lift 60 pounds frequently-duration of shift if necessary. Must be able to lift 100 pounds with assistance.
* Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently
* Must be able to climb ladders up to 110 feet.
* Must be able to talk and hear radio communications as well as phone.

Essential Duties

Operates process lines and other equipment as necessary and performs minor maintenance tasks.
Measures product quality properties, inputs data into SAP, takes corrective action to maintain quality within specification.
Assists Line Leads/Area Leader in performing mechanical repairs.
Performs product change-overs and completes necessary paperwork.
Makes necessary adjustments to the lines, ensuring quality of product.
Assists other operators as needed.
Removes and grinds scrap from rolls and gaylords.
Notifies Area Leader/Shift Supervisor and/or maintenance of all equipment/process problems.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar job/environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and ability.

Our Chemical Repackaging team plays the critical role of taking large quantities of chemicals and packaging them into smaller quantities (smaller bottles or vials) that are easier for a teacher to use in their classroom. Your safety is our top priority, so you will receive training on the proper ways to handle different chemicals and the PPE that will ensure your safety. Flinn also provides the PPE required for you to do your job safely.

The Repack Associate - Day-to-Day:
Your safety is our #1 priority - you'll be required to complete thorough safety training and follow the training in your daily tasks
Understand and follow instructions on Production Orders which describe the personal protective equipment (PPE), chemicals, supplies, and apparatus needed to dispense or repackage chemicals.
Dispense or repackage chemicals based on Production Orders:
-Collect the necessary equipment, lab apparatus, and containers to perform the work.
-Conduct necessary quality and quantity control checks to ensure complete and total accuracy of chemicals being packaged.

Your Role: The Machine Operator is responsible for performing basic machine operation, working with computer-controlled equipment or mechanical based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well and producing quality products.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Basic understanding of motor components and functions (40%)
Load/unload/inspect components to Operational Method Sheets (OMS) by use of proper gauging equipment in a safe and efficient manner (30%)
Make adjustments as required for change overs (30%)
Identify, troubleshoot and correct minor machine time outs (20%)
Setup/Operate 1 up/down workstations (20%)
Perform monthly PM requirements (10%)
Inform team leader about processes or equipment requiring attention (10%)
Complete rework and scrap documentation as required or requested (10%)
Package service parts (10%)
Participate in completion of continuous improvement projects specifically designed to improve processes, productivity and quality, especially those related to corrective actions (10%)
Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area (10%)
Practice 5Ss (10%)

We are currently seeking Entry Level Waterjet Machine Operators for our fast-paced manufacturing operations.
This position is a 12 hours Day shift 7:00am- 7:00pm- Swing shift
This position requires the ability to (this is not a complete job description):
Essential Job Functions:
Trim, lift, and stack rubber mats
Comply with all safety processes and procedures for safe operation of the machinery and equipment
Perform housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance tasks requiring the use of hand tools such as wrenches (Socket and Allen), saws-all, belt seamers/iron, utility knives, push knives, scrapers, air hoses, brooms, shovels, squeegees, shop vacs, Dennison guns and wooden paddles
Assist with machine preventive maintenance, mold changes and material changeovers
Work within a team setting and be cross trained to perform all essential job duties within the team
Meet or exceed all performance and productivity standards including working safely, maintaining acceptable quality levels and achieving desired standard output levels
Perform other assignments as requested or as business needs required
Qualifications:
Experience performing light maintenance on equipment such as filter changes, administering inspection checklists, using tools, assisting maintenance associates
Maintaining regular and predictable attendance
Complying with company processes and procedures
Following verbal and written instructions
Ability to work rotating 12-hour schedules including every other weekend and all applicable holidays on your rotation schedule and OT as required
Demonstrated attitude of safety and quality as top priorities
