What you'll be working on
Production operators tend machines such as fillers, labelers, packaging, cappers, palletizers, etc. used for bottling water. They will operate manufacturing equipment in an efficient and safe manner while ensuring package and product quality.
· Performs basic machine operations to include; operating machines, stacking raw material, handling finished product cases, performing quality inspections and minor machine adjustments.
· Monitors the flow of outgoing finished goods and correct any disturbance in the flow of those goods.
· Cleans equipment and line continually throughout the shift and maintains a clean work area.
· Expedites repairs to the line; working with maintenance as necessary.
· Keeps daily records of down time and machine operations.
· Follows standard operating procedures for all operations.
· Maintains clean, orderly and safe work area at all times
· Must follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices.

Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Operator, Extruder 3 is a high skill role that will set up and operate complex extrusion lines (that vary in speeds) and related equipment, including nylon extruders, pay-offs and take-ups. This operator will be responsible for blending different materials within the extrusion lines.
For example, some machines that would be ran are: THHN and Tandem Lines (MC&BWP), CV Lines (SCUPP& Heflin).
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Must be able to read and comprehend production orders and the instrumentation on complex equipment.
Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
Must be able to follow instructions
Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, etc..)
Judgments concerning operation of extrusion line and related equipment are encountered.
Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of time
PRIMARY JOB TASKS:
Must be able to work under supervision and maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor and peers through verbal instruction and reports.
Responsible for proper setup of extrusion line and related equipment with correct tip and die and correct wire size.
Responsible to maintain correct wire size, insulation thickness and concentricity.
Responsible for application of correct print of acceptable quality on cable.
Responsible to observe Southwire safety rules, maintain good housekeeping and perform all other duties as assigned.
Responsible for using proper compound and correct amounts of color concentrate.
Responsible to keep wire and compound loss at a minimum during start-up and changeovers.
Responsible for correct inventory of WIP tags daily.
Put scrap into the designated scrap bins.
CROSS TRAINING:
Will be required to cross-train on equipment within your identified workgroup at your facility
Once trained in more complex jobs, may be required to fill the position in the event of absence or vacancy
Will be required to rotate on a set frequency within your workgroup to maintain skill proficiency
QUALITY:
Use the company's ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activities.
Do not release products until all quality checks have been passed
Immediately report quality issues to the supervisor or quality manager
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-control.
The operator is constantly exposed to water, some heat, cold, dust and fumes.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
Washout Operator will locate and shuttle full trailers of whole carrots to the flume line for unloading, open gates, and remove empty trailer. Washout Operator will also operate hydraulic water pressure cranes to empty trailers of carrots into the flume elevator-conveyor system in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Obtain daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
Perform safety check inspection of the wash-out equipment to ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
Locate full trailers of whole carrots, match trailer number to paperwork and shuttle full trailers to the flume line for unloading.
Direct and position of raw carrots to the elevator-conveyer system as required.
Position trailer to washout station, unhook power/brake lines from trailer and open trailer gates for unloading.
Set-up control panel of hydraulic water pressure crane to empty crane to empty trailers of raw carrots into the flume elevator-conveyer system.
Manually open trailer gates to flume with metal pole.
Operates hydraulic water pressure crane to empty trailers of raw carrots into the flume elevator-conveyor system.
When trailer is empty, rinse the trailer to remove dirt and debris and close the chute.
Perform general housekeeping and clean-ups as required.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; or six-to-one-year-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
Must complete “Yard Goat” training and obtain certificate.
Forklift Certificate
Required Skills and Abilities:
Possess mechanical aptitude.
Detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Knowledge of basic mathematical skills

What you'll be working on:
The Control Room Operator will use systems such as JDE Oracle, C3 Solutions and scanner guns to effectively and efficiently take care of inbound and outbound needs. The position requires strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills as well as basic computer skills.
Direct outbound driver to shipping door locations.
Direct Inbound receiving loads to receiving door locations.
Loading and unloading.
Direct all forklift traffic on the dock as it relates to shipping outbound loads and receiving inbound raw materials.
