Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle database environments across development, test, staging, and production systems.
Manage database instances, schemas, users, and storage structures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

High Availability, Backup & Recovery:

Apply patches, perform vulnerability assessments, and support audits by providing required database evidence and documentation.
Development & Optimization:
Collaborate with developers, architects, and application teams to design efficient database schemas, queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and query optimization to improve application performance.
Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Implement and maintain database monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for database incidents, including performance degradation and outages.
Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation and planned maintenance activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8 years' experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems such as Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server.
• 5 years' experience designing and maintaining PostgreSQL relational databases.

What You'll Do
Build, configure, and maintain MySQL servers to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability
Perform routine databaseadministration tasks, including backups, restores, tuning, indexing, and query optimization
Monitor database health and proactively troubleshoot performance issues, slow queries, and system bottlenecks
Manage user permissions, security configurations, and data integrity across MySQL environments
Support development and operations teams by providing MySQL expertise for day-to-day needs
Ensure stable, well-maintained MySQL instances without involvement in architectural design
What You Bring
5+ years of experience as a DatabaseAdministrator with strong, hands-on MySQL expertise
Proven, expert-level MySQL experience with hands-on administration, performance tuning, and server maintenance
Strong understanding of MySQL internals, indexing strategies, optimization techniques, and replication fundamentals
Ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues quickly and effectively
Experience with backup strategies, restores, upgrades, and schema maintenance
Solid understanding of database security, user management, and operational best practices
A practical, detail-oriented approach focused on maintaining highly stable and efficient MySQL environments rather than designing full system architectures

Our infrastructure spans Microsoft SQL Server, Linux-based email sending services across multiple cloud platforms, Amazon S3 storage, and a suite of internal .NET applications.
We are seeking a hybrid DatabaseAdministrator to ensure our systems run smoothly end-to-end. This role combines databaseadministration, email system operations, client services, and general infrastructure oversight. The position is hands-on but also requires ownership of day-to-day stability and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
DatabaseAdministration (Core)
Manage, optimize, and monitor large Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Implement backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in production and test environments.
Client Services & Operations
Serve as a key point of contact for client requests and technical support tickets.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues related to deliverability, list management, and platform usage.
Test and validate changes, patches, and system updates.
Document support processes and maintain operational runbooks.
Email Systems & Infrastructure
Oversee email delivery platforms hosted on Linux servers across multiple cloud providers.
Configure and troubleshoot email standards and protocols: SMTP, MIME, DKIM, SPF, DNS.
Monitor deliverability, bounce handling, and feedback loops.
Manage S3-based storage workflows tied to large-scale email operations.
Ensure uptime and smooth operation of dozens of in-house .NET applications (no development required, but operational oversight expected).
Qualifications
5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
Familiarity with Linux server administration in cloud hosting environments.
Strong knowledge of email technologies: SMTP, MIME, DKIM, SPF, DNS.
Experience managing client services/support operations (ticketing systems, client communication).
Practical experience with cloud storage (S3 or equivalent).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across heterogeneous systems.
