A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The CNC Machinist II position contributes to the production of medical devices by operating and performing basic set ups of CNC 3 and 4 Axis machines, with the ability to identify X, Y, Z and 0 coordinates. He/she is responsible for running multiple and varying CNC machines simultaneously, such as Lathes, EDM Wire, Plunge, and CMM machines in addition to operating manual machine tools to cut, drill, shape, and finish quality products with minimal or no supervision. Experience in CNC machining across multi-axis or multiple CNC machines, in a manufactuirng work environment required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Performs set up of 3 & 4 Axis CNC machines.
Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with minimal supervision.
Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Completes all required training.

Job Overview
TRAK Machine Tools is seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Machinist Level 2 to support the production of high-precision components in our vertically integrated machine shop. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with 5+ years of CNC Lathe machining experience who is comfortable working independently, performing their own setups, and holding tight tolerances on complex parts. Youll work on Siemens Sinumerik One, ProtoTRAK, and Mazak equipment including proprietary machines we design and manufacture. Ongoing training is provided to familiarize you with our controls and processes.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines independently (mills, lathes, etc.) for production and prototype parts
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Machine parts to precise tolerances (±0.001")
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, bore gages, etc.)
Identify and resolve machining issues (tool wear, surface finish, dimensional deviations)
Collaborate with programming and engineering staff to improve process quality and efficiency
Learn and adapt to new machines, software, and in-house manufacturing technology
Assist in training and mentoring Level 1 machinists when appropriate
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Run multiple machines simultaneously as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC lathe machining experience

The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. What you will do as a Machinist
* Consistent proficiency in setting up and effectively operating a multitude of CNC and Conventional machines such as Mills, Lathes, Grinders etc., while effectively maintaining the specified print tolerances noted.
* Calculate and set machine controls to regulate machining repeatability such as speeds, feeds, overrides. The ability to enter command codes to retrieve machine data for program restarts and alarms.
* Read and interpret STERIS blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including.
* Use precision measuring devices, gages, instruments to thoroughly inspect and insure that parts meet the print tolerances and in process dimensions.
* Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all the required safety equipment for your work area. Conform to all safety rules and policies stated in the employee handbook.
* Keep and maintain a clean and orderly work environment while instituting the 5S principles of Lean Manufacturing.
* Immediately report any and all safety related issues ,irregularities, and discrepancies relating to job functions and assignments.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities
Required:
* High school graduate or GED required, technical degree preferred.
* Minimum two years machinist experience.
* Ability to set-up and operate CNC and conventional Lathes and Mills.
* Ability to read and interpret current engineering blueprints and production specifications.
* Ability to use precision measuring instruments and gages such as calipers and micrometers.
Other:
* Strong math skills and the ability to apply them.
* Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused
* Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team
* Assist with training other operators.
* Willingness to work overtime, if required.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The CNC Machinist II position contributes to the production of medical devices by operating and performing basic set ups of CNC 3 and 4 Axis machines, with the ability to identify X, Y, Z and 0 coordinates.
