**_What Retail Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health_**
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines; may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

**_Job Summary_**
The Pharmacy Technician, Fulfillment is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely preparation, packing, and shipping of pharmaceutical and medical supply orders in a high-volume mail order environment. This role focuses on inventory management, order assembly, and warehouse operations to ensure patients receive their medications and supplies promptly and accurately. The position requires strict adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, and safety procedures while working in a physically demanding environment.
**_Responsibilities_**
+ Assemble, pack, and prepare prescription and medical supply orders for shipment according to company standards.
+ Maintain inventory accuracy by receiving shipments, verifying packing slips, and restocking bins.
+ Perform regular cycle counts and assist with monthly inventory audits.
+ Pre-pack products and create kits for pump supplies and other specialized orders.
+ Process returned orders, update inventory systems, and prepare reorders as needed.
+ Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety and regulatory requirements.
+ Break down boxes, dispose of packaging materials, and maintain a safe warehouse environment.
+ Collaborate with team members to meet daily fulfillment goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
+ Lift and move boxes and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
+ Stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
**_Qualifications_**
+ High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
+ 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a pharmacy, warehouse, or fulfillment environment, preferred.
+ Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time).
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
+ Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.
+ Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These duties include but are not limited to: filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas, preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff. What you will do:
Responsible for providing technical support to pharmacists at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Skywalk Pharmacy.
Enters prescriptions in the operating system, analyzes, and reviews prescriptions for completeness and accuracy according to specified standards. Accurately adjudicates prescription claims through insurance, performs prescription benefits investigation, and completes prior authorizations.
Assists in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of medications. Prepares various forms of medication for patients in accordance with the policies and procedures at CHW.
Interacts and communicates with patients, families, and other medical personnel in person and over the phone. Confers with the healthcare team to assure all patient information is communicated and received to manage the prescription process.
Assists in inventory management by accurately maintaining inventory levels on the shelf and in the computer system, including narcotics and over-the-counter product management. Orders, receives, and properly stores and stocks products, checks for outdates, and processes returns as needed. Handles narcotics according to policy and procedures. Provides information to aid in the resolution of any discrepancies.
Assists patients in the check-out process through the point of sale, collecting payment, and accurately closing the register drawer at the end of business.
Contributes to the quality improvement activities of the department by gathering data.
Assists in accurate patient billing.

Rounds with previous shift staff to receive report on care given to patients. Delivers care using the mission, vision, and value statements, incorporating patient-centric behaviors daily. Promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer. Provides care to patients in accordance with standards of care, including assistance with hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living. Maintains patient skin integrity by turning and repositioning patients, preventing skin shearing, and notifying nurses of skin breakdown. Performs various medical procedures such as urine specimen collection, splinting, crutch adjustment, urinary catheter removal, dressing changes, accucheks, hemocults, nasogastric tube discontinuation, IV catheter removal, phlebotomy, and Foley bag emptying. Documents patient care according to policy, including intake and output, vital signs, weights, activities of daily living, and specimen collection. Transports patients, medical records, and equipment within scheduled time frames, and assists in positioning, lifting, and ambulating patients using safety precautions. Supports nutritional needs of patients by providing liquids, assisting with meal setup, and feeding patients within identified restrictions. Other duties as assigned. Introduces self to patient, explains role in patient's care, and calls patient by preferred name. Follows hospital policy for patient identification, uses universal precautions, and maintains a clean and uncluttered patient environment.

Maintains ongoing communication with Charge Nurse each shift.

Requirements

JOB SUMMARY
