Qualifications
Job Description
Education/Degree Required - Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure Required - Licensed (and in good standing) as a physicaltherapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)
Required - BLS required.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
Basic skills in math and computer science.
Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
Effective problem solving skills for physical therapy evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning and execution taking into consideration patient's age, psychosocial, cultural and religious background.
Basic skills in teaching other and self assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
Maintain variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend and travel).
Preferred - Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.

SUMMARY
Under general direction, serves as a department resource in the area of clinical specialization. Provides consultation to physicians and other physicaltherapists, conducts staff training sessions and develops protocols in area of specialization. Also functions as staff physicaltherapist and evaluates, develops and implements treatment plans for patients.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy required. Must be currently licensed in Massachusetts as a PhysicalTherapist with an advanced degree in a clinical specialty. Certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in one of its designated specialties is preferred but not required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of outpatient experience required.
SKILLS
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and must also display well-developed interpersonal skills in order to work successfully with all levels of management, staff and patients. Must be able to use computerized system, including keyboard documentation, throughout the day.
