Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite) Classification: Non Exempt Status: Full-Time Reports to: Supervisor, Fulfillment Pharmacist Purpose: The Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and in accordance with federal and state laws, and PANTHERx Specialty Pharmacy policies. To accommodate business and patient services, this position may be required to work varied and rotating full-time schedules between 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday-Friday as required by the Manager. Responsibilities: Assist pharmacist(s) with fulfillment duties Communicate with staff about sufficient inventory quantities in regards to medication delivery Fulfillment of prescriptions including, but not limited to: product receipt, lot tracking, counting medications and shipper coordination Organization of medication product on designated shelves Gathering of supply items that are included on a delivery ticket Creation of supply kits for specified programs Communication with RxARECARE and Core Specialty team members Additional projects and activities as assigned Required Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications: Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure 2-4 years' experience as pharmacy technician 1-3 years of specialty pharmacy experience Work Environment: This position operates in a well-lit, mail order distribution pharmacy environment. Role routinely uses pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies. Physical Demands: Individual must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 20 pounds; and utilize the computer and bar code scanner. Must be able to use proper personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, gloves, eye protection and face masks when needed. Maintain preventative maintenance on pumps: Monitor stickers on pumps if due for yearly maintenance and repair. Compound using & aseptic techniques. Stage, and label all completed products compounded such as IV-Piggyback, Hydration fluid, TPN, Pain management. Verify all NDC#s and document correct lot #s in the compounding record. Send necessary supplies needed for Peripheral, Central, Port A Cath, Groshong, PICC line. Forward finished products to IV Pharmacist for final review and approval. Maintain strict attention to detail in prescription filling duties. Maintain productivity and accuracy standards for work completed. Any other duties assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements include education and experience equivalent to completion of High School and pharmacy technician training. Minimal experience or just graduated acceptable at this level. Must be 18 years of age. Must be certified as a pharmacy technician as required by state regulations. Previous experience as a IV technician preferred Knowledge of & aseptic compounding Knowledge of medical terminology and brand/generic medications required.
