Job Description SmileMD is an office-based anesthesia group specifically caring for the pediatric Medicaid population for operative dentistry. Most of the kids would otherwise wait 6-12 months to receive care in a hospital. Our mission is to care for those who need us most. We operate in 4 states and do over 10,000 cases annually. All our care is provided in a dentist's office.
The paramedic will transport supplies and medications to the dental office, set up the operating room, and assist the physician in the operating room throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with both pediatric and adult patients undergoing anesthesia.

10 hour shifts - a typical surgery day starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Key Responsibilities
Travel to case days with medical equipment and supplies
Set up and tear down all equipment and supplies on case days
Assist the physician in the operating room throughout the day
Assist with moving patients to recovery
Turn over the operating room between patients
Efficiently and accurately record patient data in the EMR system
Provide a white glove service to client dental staff, care team members, patients, and patient family members
Inventory tracking of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals
Communicate with patients and medically clear them for anesthesia
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Qualifications
Active paramedic card in Ohio
PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications or the ability to acquire these certifications
Skills and Abilities
Ability to travel within the region up to 90 minutes one way, with the possibility of occasional overnight stays
Excellent patient care skills
Experience working with pediatric patients
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with great attention to detail
Ability to enter patient information accurately and timely into EMR system

A PPT Paramedic responds to dispatched medical and/or injured patients transport requests. Transporting patients to a pre-designated hospital, clinic, home, nursing home or other medical facility. PPT Paramedics provide necessary medical care at the sending facility when requested, and during transportation to the receiving facility. All medical care is provided under the Paramedic's scope of practice in their licensed state. Paramedics are also monitored and under the medical direction of a PPT Medical Director in their licensed state/states.
Minimum Requirements
Must hold a current and in good standing, Paramedic license/licenses for the state/states they will be working in. Must provide proof of credentials, credentials will be verified.
Hold a current ACLS/CPR/PALS card.
Hold a current, valid state issued drivers license with less than 5 points and no significant moving violations within the last three years. For non-drivers- a current state issued ID.
Must hold a current EVOC certification- can be obtained in house.
Clean criminal background check.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Must be able to provide a social security card or valid/current work visa.
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift and maneuver 125 pounds, 250 pounds with a partner.
Must be able to move/change large oxygen tanks appropriately.
The ability to walk up and down stairs, assisting a patient in a stair chair or similar device.
The ability to sit or stand for long periods.
Must be able to carry/move/assist patient and/or needed equipment on foot in all kinds of terrain, IE: drive ways, uphill/downhill, throughout hospital hallways, residences etc and in all kinds of weather IE: rain, heat, snow etc.
Must be able to wear face masks and all PPE for extended periods of time.
Must be able to see and hear, use of aids is permitted.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
Must be able to read and write.
Responsibilities
Must arrive to work on time, in full, appropriate uniform and ready to work.
Must clock in/clock out on time or as directed by your supervisor.
Must maintain good personal hygiene.
Have medical knowledge pertaining to your scope of practice or above and the ability to perform skills within your scope of practice or as directed by physician/medical control.
Perform daily truck inspections appropriately and in a timely manner.
Must maintain cleanliness of the ambulance and stations IE: wash trucks, take out trash, sweep, mop, clean station etc
Must restock truck supplies as needed and appropriately.
Must respond to transfer requests in a timely manner.
Must communicate with dispatch, other co-workers, Hospital staff, the patient and patient's family appropriately and respectfully.
Must understand contamination risks, how to properly don and doff PPE, decontaminate yourself, the truck, and your equipment.
Must be able to obtain a good patient care report, patient documentation/charting, and how to give a proper hand off report.
Must know your state protocols.
Must follow your appropriate chain of command.
Duties to Patients
All patient care must begin with friendly introductions to your patient and/or patients' family if they are present.
Obtain a good patient care report from the nursing staff. IE: chief complaint, treatment received, treatment needed enroute, acuity etc.
Gather all patient care paperwork and patient belongings if any.
Safely move patient to the stretcher and secure with all straps.
Complete a thorough patient assessment, obtain 2 sets of vitals at minimum. Patient vitals must be reassessed every 15-30 minutes depending on patients' current status, length of transport etc.
Must be able to give a good patient hand off report.
Complete an accurate EPCR, obtain all appropriate signatures and attach all appropriate paperwork to the EPCR. EPCRs must be completed by the end of each shift.
All patient care must be delivered appropriately and within your scope of practice or per Medical Control Direction.
All patient care MUST be delivered with compassion and respect regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, personal beliefs etc.

EMTs are also monitored and under the medical direction of a PPT Medical Director in their licensed state/states.

Must hold a current and in good standing, EMT license/licenses for the state/states they will be working in. Must provide proof of credentials, credentials will be verified.
Hold a current BLS/CPR card.
Hold a current, valid state issued drivers license with less than 5 points and no significant moving violations withing the last three years. For non-drivers- a current state issued ID.

Duties to Patients
All patient care must begin with friendly introductions to your patient and/or patients' family if they are present.
Obtain a good patient care report from the nursing staff. IE: chief complaint, treatment received, treatment needed enroute, acuity etc.
Gather all patient care paperwork and patient belongings if any.
Safely move patient to the stretcher and secure with all straps.
Complete a thorough patient assessment, obtain 2 sets of vitals at minimum. Patient vitals must be reassessed every 15-30 minutes depending on patients' current status, length of transport etc.
Must be able to give a good patient hand off report.
Complete an accurate EPCR, obtain all appropriate signatures and attach all appropriate paperwork to the EPCR. EPCRs must be completed by the end of each shift.
All patient care must be delivered appropriately and within your scope of practice or per Medical Control Direction.
All patient care MUST be delivered with compassion and respect regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, personal beliefs etc.

Medical Direction and Clinical Protocols provided by UH EMS Institute.
On-site Mechanics are available weekly to provide timely repairs, PMs, to company vehicles, and employee vehicles when time permits. Porters are also provided throughout the workweek to take over the Ambulances at the end of shifts to provide deep cleaning and detailing while the hardworking EMTs are free to go about their day or evening.

What Youll Do:
Provide safe, professional, and compassionate patient transport services
Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatch, and healthcare partners
Maintain accurate trip documentation and patient care reports
Operate ambulances and wheelchair vans in compliance with safety and traffic regulations

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Job Summary
As an EMT with Ohio Ambulance Solutions, you will provide emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies. You will represent our organization with professionalism, compassion, and respect while delivering high-quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Respond promptly and safely to emergency and non-emergency calls.
Assess, treat, and transport patients in accordance with established medical protocols and Ohio Ambulance Solutions policies.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, medical personnel, and treatment facilities.
Operate and maintain ambulances and medical equipment safely and in compliance with all standards.
Complete all required reports, including patient care and insurance documentation, accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain readiness by restocking, cleaning, and inspecting vehicles and equipment.
Adhere to all safety policies, including infection control and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
Patient Privacy Responsibilities
All employees must comply with HIPAAand Ohio Ambulance Solutions Privacy Policies:
Access and share patient information only as needed to perform job duties.
Protect all patient information and report any privacy concerns immediately.
Participate in company privacy training and maintain professionalism in handling confidential information.
Violation of privacy policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Qualifications
Current State of Ohio EMT Certification (or higher).
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Current CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
EVOC/EVDT and Hazardous Materials Operations certifications preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to150 lbswith assistance.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and working in varied environments and weather conditions.
Ability to function calmly and professionally under stress and in emergencies.
Work Environment
