KCBS2/KCAL9, the largest duopoly and part of the CBS-owned and operated stations in Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to become part of the Engineering and Operations team. The selected candidate will collaborate with the Director of Broadcast Operations & Engineering in the planning and design of the broadcast and studio systems.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Assist the Director in capital planning and department expense budget.
+ Supervise the engineering maintenance staff and coordinate training for engineers in new systems, technologies, procedures, and techniques.
+ Manage Engineering staff schedules who are members of the IBEW or IATSE unions.
+ Ensure daily maintenance issues are being resolved in a timely manner, staff development opportunities are being applied, and projects are being completed on schedule and within budget.
+ Coordinate any maintenance windows that could impact KCBS/KCAL, CBS West Coast Network Operations, CBS West Coast News Bureau, Newspath, CBS Program Practices, among other divisions.
+ Coordinate with the Director of IT & Broadcast Technology integrating or updating equipment that requires network connectivity.
+ Oversee the purchasing of equipment and the coordination of the stations' technological planning and development.
+ Manage relationships with vendors, and local distribution partners.
+ Process invoices according to NET terms.
+ Work directly with the News Department to plan and implement special production and event coverage as necessary.
+ Along with the Production manager, resolve the source of all on-air technical problems or mistakes and take any necessary action to prevent such mistakes from reoccurring.
+ Ensure compliance with FCC, OSHA, EPA, and local laws, and performs other duties as assigned.
PROFICIENCIES:
+ Ability to lead and motivate a team.
+ A sound engineering foundation and the ability to solve and repair complex television broadcast systems.
+ Strong technical background in video transmission and transmitters, newsroom systems, ingest, wireless and cellular bonded technologies, automation systems, microwave, master control, satellite, streaming, control room, studio, and field operations, and IP technology.
+ Expertise and background in RF transmission and technology.
+ Understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
+ Candidate must be a self-starter and highly organized.
+ Strong project execution and coordination skills.
+ Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to successfully actively communicate and work with other members of the engineering staff, station employees, management, and outside vendors in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ 5+ years of experience as a television broadcast manager, or equivalent.
+ College degree in Engineering or IT related field, or SBE Certification, preferred.
+ Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and in emergency situations, as we are a 24/7 news operation.
+ Understanding of RF, ATSC 1.0 & 3.0 signals, MPEG2, AVC, HEVC, DOLBY AC-3 & AC-4, CALM ACT, EAS, CAP.
+ Knowledge and experience working with but not limited to SONY automation, switchers, and cameras, media servers, Grass Valley non-linear editing systems, Telestream transcoding products, Chyron graphics systems, Evertz routers, RTS intercoms, and Harmonic encoders.
+ Knowledge of and understanding of FCC rules and regulations.
+ Familiarity with IP interface networking, active directory, and software

Hiring Salary Range: $140,000.00 - 150,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of Project Engineers to support Dolese operations through the entire project life cycle from designing, estimating, justifying, and procuring through constructing and commissioning capital projects at Dolese quarries, sand plants, stone yards, ready-mix plants, and recycle plants. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage a team of Project Engineers responsible for all phases of capital projects, from initial conceptual design, preliminary estimates, preparation of request for capital, detailed engineering, scheduling, contract preparation and execution, and commissioning.
Create preliminary budgets schedules, project execution plans, and presentations for the approval of capital expenditure packages. Maintain a 5-Year Capital Plan for aggregate operations.
Develop cross-functional teams for new construction, new process start-ups, new process technology integration, cost reduction, productivity improvement, quality system improvement, continuous improvement, and supply chain improvement using Lean Manufacturing Principles
Partner with Mining Engineering to support civil development for construction projects ranging from large primary crushing installations to railroad spurs
Utilize exploration and sales data to design crushing, screening, and washing process flows and plant layouts for both greenfield and brownfield operations
Facilitate implementation of key stakeholder ideas into project scope, drive understanding of key customer needs to the project engineers, and maintain oversight of the scope of each project throughout its entirety
Ensure Project Engineers are managing project quality, schedule, and budget while ensuring stakeholder value is achieved
Maintain Project Engineering best practices and engineering guidelines to organize and execute projects, ensuring project quality and execution. Key deliverables for each project include comprehensive risk management plans, project charters, and lessons learned.
Compile and summarize Project Engineer detail progress reports into bi-weekly executive level reports in an effective and efficient manner using program and portfolio management techniques.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams for new construction, process start-ups, new process technology integration, cost reduction, productivity improvement, quality system improvement, continuous improvement, and supply chain improvement using Lean Manufacturing Principles

Job Description
Your role as Project Manager, Architectural & Engineering, will provide support to the management of architectural and engineering projects by assisting with administrative and technical tasks, such as coordinating schedules, preparing documents, and ensuring that project timelines and budgets are met. Key responsibilities include assisting with project planning, overseeing project documentation, facilitating communication between team members and clients, providing support in quality assurance and code/regulatory compliance, and performing site visits for surveys, construction meetings, or to verify the status of construction. Ideally, the candidate has aviation experience.
Job Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring successful execution and client satisfaction. The candidate's key responsibilities will include:
Project administration: Assist in planning and coordinating project activities, manage project files, and handle administrative duties like scheduling meetings and preparing reports.
Technical support: Review project-related documents, help coordinate between different engineering disciplines (e.g., architectural, structural, MEP, and civil), and provide support in developing project specifications and technical drawings.
Communication and coordination: Facilitate communication between project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients. This includes distributing information, relaying comments, and updating stakeholders on project progress.
Quality assurance: Help ensure projects adhere to safety standards, building codes, and client requirements. This can involve assisting in the review of designs and making sure corrections are made.
Financial assistance: Aid in managing project budgets, processing invoices, and assisting with the procurement of materials and equipment.
Documentation and filing: Prepare and file applications with regulatory bodies and keep officials updated on project changes. Maintain records of distributed materials and other project-related information.
Mentorship and guidance: In some roles, assist in training and mentoring junior staff by providing technical assistance and guidance.

Qualifications
Below is an outline of the qualifications for this position. We have many engineers who fall outside of this standard, so please do not be dissuaded from applying if you do not meet particular criteria:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management within the architecture or construction industry.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills are required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings is a must. Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and relevant regulations is also crucial.
Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite, or other relevant software, are often required.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
Education
Requires a Bachelor's of Architecture degree.
Licensure is a benefit but not a requirement.
PMP certification preferred but not required
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based in our Denver or Fairfield office. The role requires occasional travel to airports within the U.S. for site-based work as well as travel to architectural and engineering partners' offices. The successful candidate must pass criminal background checks and screening to obtain airport security badges.
Standard 40-hour work week with occasional additional time required to meet deadlines.
Projects that the successful candidate will participate in may require drug screening.
Salary
$80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.

Job Summary:
