Pathway Health is looking for an Interim Director of Nursing. The Interim Director of Nursing will performs a full range of professional interim assignments.
Duties:
Assist the client with assessing, planning, developing and implementing systems, processes and other needs as requested
Identify training needs; plan and conduct training/in-services as requested
Maintain current working knowledge of applicable state and federal standards, regulations and industry standards of proactive and professional practice guidelines.
Assist clients as requested in the selection and hiring of key management staff.
Functions within scope of work as defined by the client
Maintain client confidentiality and function within HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
Must have current RN license in state
Must have three years of RN Management skills (preferably) in long term care
Excellent leadership, communication and customer service orientation
Able to build solid relationships with all levels of staff, interdisciplinary team, residents and families
Must be Flexible for travel

Working Conditions:
This position works out of Guild's administrative office in St. Paul.
Some activities will be required in the community.
Travel will be required to other program sites.
Prolonged periods at a desk, working on a computer.
Manual dexterity for tasks such as taking notes and using technological devices for documentation.
Must be ambulatory and able to negotiate stairways.
The ability to lift and carry heavy weights that could be up to 25 pounds.
Education and Experience:
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or social work.
Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience.
Experience working for a nonprofit or healthcare organization in a leadership capacity.
Preferred
Master's degree in the Behavioral Sciences.
Licensed as a mental health professional in the state of Minnesota.
Additional Requirements:
Must not be actively receiving services from Guild and must not have received services within the last two years.
A valid Class ‘D' Driver's License, reliable vehicle, satisfactory driving record and necessary insurance.
Ability to pass a MN Department of Human Services background check.
Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Description
Manages Resident Service: Communicates, interacts and responds to customers effectively and accurately. Proactively communicates any necessary changes, issues and concerns to families, staff and other members of the medical community. Responds quickly and openly to resident's physical, mental and needs and assures they are being met by self or others. Ensures effective marketing and communication for all service levels. Is accessible and practices active listening.
Manages Risk: Assigns responsibility to an individual(s) for the daily management of infection prevention and control activities. Provides equipment/supplies and access to information needed to support the infection prevention and control program. Sets expectations for the collection and use of data and information to monitor and control infections. Responsible to create and maintain a culture of safety. Ensures a safety program is in place with scheduled inspections making corrections as necessary. Provides equipment and supplies to ensure a safe environment. Assures resident rights are protected and that all residents, families and significant others are made aware of those rights. Ensures HIPAA compliance. Responsible for ensuring a Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program is in place. Assigns responsibility to an individual(s) for the daily management of QAPI. Ensures the leadership of monthly QAPI committee meetings. Sponsors performance improvement projects and reviews, approves or rejects performance improvement team findings and recommendations. Provides access to information needed to support quality assurance performance improvement and provides equipment and supplies to support QAPI efforts. The Administrator is the Compliance Liaison of the facility, with a responsibility to support the Chief Compliance Officer in carrying out the Compliance Program.
Manages Communication and Documentation: Expresses ideas clearly, concisely and effectively both orally and in writing. Requests ongoing feedback on task performance. Communicates upward and downward within the organization appropriately and in a timely fashion. Ensures documentation and reports are completed as required by regulations and/or policy and procedure. Seeks clarification of assignments and asks questions when needed. Keeps supervisor informed and follows chain of command as appropriate when reporting issues or concerns.
Manages Financial and operational objectives: Works with department teams, and consultants to oversee operations of the campus.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, preferably in healthcare administration, including course work in business and human resources.
Location will determine experience required.
The ability to be a licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in the state of practice is required. Other licenses as appropriate by state requirements and facility needs.

Participates in state and/or federal nursing home survey process; writes any resultant plan of correction (POC) and ensures it is carried out. Participates in the QA/CQI process. Responsible to lead the management and monitoring/auditing of the EMR in the location; to include training, documentation, reports/dashboards and retrieval management and monitoring/auditing. Keeps abreast of and implements new programs or practices. Accepts accountability for activities under direct control; plans and organizes work with and for department. Exercises sound judgment and decision-making. Promotes cooperative working relationships within and between departments. Performs/ assigns completion of pre-admission assessment on a timely basis; assures a comprehensive nursing assessment of all residents is completed and interventions for plan of care are formulated to address needs on admission and on an ongoing basis according to state and federal regulations, location procedures or other guidelines. Assures plan of care and interventions are evaluated for effectiveness on an ongoing basis and adjusted and updated accordingly. Assures restraints or seclusion use conforms to Society policy. Assures residents are offered choices in their care and other decisions. Assures residents are free of neglect or abuse. Immediately reports any concerns related to resident rights and resident abuse or neglect in accordance with Society policy and procedure. Allows residents access to their records upon request. Assures physicians are notified of change in condition / request and orders are processed on a timely basis. Maintains thorough and accurate records for each resident. Ensures staff is appropriately trained and adequately utilizing the scheduling system. Participates in location care conferences, special events and task forces. Explains procedures to residents before and during interactions; interacts with residents and maintains resident-centered conversations when residents are present. Reports / assures appropriate action on any physical or emotional problems/concerns from observation or residents' report (onset of shortness of breath, increased agitation, new behaviors, pain, etc.). Assures families are notified of resident condition changes, etc. Ensures adherence to antibiotic stewardship plan.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job. Supervisory experience is preferred. Registered nurse licensure for state of practice is required.
Ability to communicate and comprehend.
Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.
