A Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a family-centered, place-based primary prevention approach, where all members of the community have access to and may benefit from both structured or spontaneous activities and events (called “offerings”) that strengthen family protective factors to increase child and family well‑being and promote stability. FEC offerings are available to everyone, regardless of current or past child welfare involvement.
The goal of the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is to enhance child and family well‑being by providing access and support to enable the strengthening of family protective factors inherent in its residents and community by building mutual community connections, capacity, and resilience.
In partnership with FEC staff, families will drive the planning, development, and sustainable co‑ownership of the centers. Families who participate in the FEC programming will be encouraged to share their expertise by volunteering at the center and given meaningful opportunities to engage with neighbors and peers. The goal of the FEC is to strengthen families' protective factors and build community connections, capacity, and resilience.
Position Summary
The Family Advocate is responsible for contributing to the day‑to‑day operation of the FEC including building connections with other staff, residents, and community partners; co‑designing and delivering relevant programming and activities (offerings); providing advocacy and making referrals for participants; and creating a warm and inviting gathering place for families and individuals using the protective factors model to support community resilience.
Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings, provide support, and collaborate with a team of local parents, subject experts, and other residents to deliver monthly events and activities (offerings) held at the FEC.
Foster a culture of respect built on the belief that families and communities possess the inherent strengths and knowledge needed to succeed given the right access to opportunities and support.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven programs working directly with children, youth, and families.
Reside in or near the FEC community, or reside close enough to arrive promptly, in the event of an emergency.

How You Make an Impact:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Phone Support: Provide first level phone support for inbound support calls to the Service Desk. This also includes remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, etc.
Incident Management: Documentallincidents, problems and requests in the company ticketing system and escalate as needed to service/product owner(s), as well as management.
Asset Management: Maintain inventory of all physical and digital assets owned by National CORE; including new hardware, software licenses, domain registration, etc. Make recommendations for the ordering of assets, as needed, to ensure timely deployments.
Troubleshooting: Identify problems in the environment and drive them to resolution; from making sure the workplace is clean to identifying recurring failures and notifying the appropriate service/product owner(s) to ensure root-cause resolution.
Communication: Be able to identify problems in the environment and communicate with peers and customers. Provide a level of discretion when it comes to sensitive data and communication such as confidential company information.
Customer Service Driven: Self-prioritization and timely resolution of incidents and requests to support our customers technology needs. Design, plan and conduct training on the use of systems and software best practices. Search for solutions to enhance workflows to drive automation and efficiency and present recommendations to management.
Project Management: Other project or administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of IT to ensure the overall success of the departments strategy and goals. This requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and resources to ensure timely completion of all assignments.
Attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which from time to time may include overnight stays at locations away from the employees home.
Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to travel is required.
Must possess a valid drivers license, current automobile insurance and reliable form of transportation.
Qualifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Technical Proficiencies: Experience working in an ITsupportenvironment utilizing the latest tools and methodologies. This includes but not limited to tools and methodologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and ITIL processes. Basic network troubleshooting skills, including wired and wireless technologies with an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP. Also, the ability to self-manage time, priorities, and daily workload with little supervision while being able to switch gears and work collaboratively on larger-scale projects or problems.
Platform Agnostic: Knowledge in supporting and troubleshooting current Apple and Windows operating systems, all popular mobile platforms like iOS and Android, troubleshooting the current versions of Microsoft Office(Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), as well as prior experience with troubleshooting and supporting network infrastructure. Experience with Yardi Voyager 7 is a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent active-listening skills are required to understand our customers concerns and/or needs. Superior critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to work through technical issues. Outstanding verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail are necessary to work collaboratively with the IT team, our customers, staff, and vendors.

Peer Support services are peer-delivered services with a rehabilitation and recovery focus. They are designed to promote skills for coping with and managing behavioral health symptoms while facilitating the utilization of natural resources and the enhancement of recovery-oriented principles (e.g. hope and self-efficacy, and community living skills). Peer support uses trauma-informed, non-clinical assistance to achieve long-term recovery from a behavioral health disorder.
Activities included must be intended to achieve the identified goals or objectives as set forth in the individuals/families individualized service plan, which delineates specific goals that are flexibly tailored to the participant(s) and attempt to utilize community and natural supports. The intent of these activities is to assist individuals and/or their families in initiating recovery, maintaining recovery, and enhancing the quality of personal and family life in long-term recovery.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
There are 6 categories of peer-support components. Any of the below services can be provided either individually or combined as the care/service plan indicates their need. They include:
Advocacy:
Assistance seeking and obtaining benefits and entitlements, food, shelter, permanent housing.
Assisting recipients in participating in shared decision making.
Use Peer Bridgers to assist with linkages to and systems navigation within behavioral health and allied human services systems to access appropriate care.
Benefits advisement and planning.
Development of psychiatric advance directives (PAD).
Assistance advocating for self-directed services.
Outreach and Engagement:
Companionship and modeling of recovery lifestyle, including participation in recovery activities that might be beyond the scope of treatment providers (e.g., coffee/tea at a coffee shop, attending a court date, attending an appointment, attending or participating in a recovery celebration event or wellness activity).
Raising the awareness of existing services, pathways to recovery and helping a person to remove barriers that exist for access to them.
Interim visits with individuals and/or their families after discharge from Hospital
Emergency Rooms, Detox Units or Inpatient Psychiatric Units to facilitate community tenure and increased readiness while waiting for the first post-discharge visit with a community based mental health provider, treatment provider or appropriate system of care. “Outreach” is a face-to-face service with a patient and/or their family provided by clinical staff or a peer advocate for the purpose of increasing motivation to participate in clinically indicated treatment for chemical dependence. Individuals and/or families identified for this intervention must be current patients who have failed to appear for sessions at the program and are judged to be at risk for prematurely discontinuing treatment or persons transitioning from another Office-certified program.
Self-help Tools:
Assist selecting and utilizing self-directed recovery tools such as Relapse Prevention Planning.
Assist selecting and utilizing the things that bring a sense of passion, purpose and meaning into his/her life and coaching the person as they identify barriers to engaging in these activities.
Assist individuals to help connect to natural supports that enhance the quality and security of life
Connecting individuals to “warm lines.”
Connections to self-help groups in the community.
Peer Recovery Supports and Peer Counseling:
Recovery education and counseling for individuals and their family members.
One to one peer support. Person centered goal planning that incorporates life areas such as community connectedness, physical wellness, spirituality, employment, self-help.
Assisting with skills development that guides people towards a more independent life.
Individuals in continuing care may receive counseling or peer services once per month.
Learning and practicing new skills.
Helping peers self-monitor their progress.
Modeling effective coping skills.
Transitional Supports:
Bridging from jail or prison to an individual's/family's home (note: that peer supports while in Jail are not Medicaid reimbursable).
Bridging from institutions (e.g. inpatient or residential facilities) to an individual's/family's home (note: that peer supports while in an institution are not Medicaid reimbursable).
Bridging from general hospitals to an individual's/family's home.
Bridging from an individual's/family's home to the community.
Arrangements for appropriate services (appointment dates, contact names, and numbers, etc.) are discussed and made with the individual/family, their significant others and/or family prior to the planned discharge date. Documentation of this information will be included in the individual's/family's case record. Where an individual and/or family is going from a bedded service to another service, a warm hand-off or peer service is considered where possible.
Pre-crisis and Crisis Support Services:
Providing companionship when an individual or family in an emergency room or crisis unit or preparing to be admitted to detox, residential or other service to provide non-clinical support.
Providing peer support in the individual's/family's home or in the community to support them before a crisis or relapse.
Developing crisis diversion plans or relapse prevention plans.

The Support Services Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and assistance for clients and volunteers of Harlem United's Drop-In Program shower services in the Integrated Harm Reduction department. Work with other staff in following safety and de-escalation protocols in working with clients.
Track shower services and client engagement using data tracking process created by Program Director, ensure documentation is up to date and accurate.
Enter service delivery details into online client tracking systems and/or funder databases as required by program.
Assist Program Director with overall program reporting to ensure compliance with funder and executive management requirements.

Orient new volunteers, explain procedures, model appropriate interaction with guests.
Oversee assigned peers and volunteers, providing support and direction to ensure that they are guided by program policies and procedures.

Attend data driven and clinical supervision, as well as departmental, divisional and staff meetings.
Participate in internal and external trainings as assigned by manager and clinical director, as well as required by Human Resources.

Education and Certification
This position requires a high school diploma and two years' experience in services for individuals experiencing unstable housing or with people who use drugs. Candidate should be familiar with housing services, substance use services, and social services agencies within New York City.
Valid New York State driver's license preferred.

The Support Services Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and assistance for clients and volunteers of Harlem United's Drop-In Program shower services in the Integrated Harm Reduction department. They will oversee the flow of people through the shower area, engage with shower guests, and report on the daily operations to the Program Director, Support Services.
The Support Services Specialist works closely with staff of the department to ensure clients are engaged through the lens of harm reduction and with a trauma-informed approach.
Currently, this position operates out of our Drop-In Center in Harlem, as well as providing shower services at a community partner location in Ridgewood, Queens one day per week. Locations in the future may adjust with program changes.
Essential Job Functions
