Performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Prepares patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards. Establishes and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments, and sutures to the physician, and assists as directed by the physician.
Use the physician preference card as a beginning point when pulling cases and setting up the OR.
Ensures that preference cards are kept up to date and as complete as possible.
Works effectively as a member of the team caring for the patient.
Cooperates in team planning and execution.
Maintains a safe environment by always implementing technical and aseptic practices.
Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Adheres to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety in all patient care situations.
Demonstrates competency to monitor and control the surgical environment. Maintains proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures.
Familiar with facility policy and procedure regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of all instruments and supplies that are processed within the facility.
Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
Appropriately adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served. xevrcyc

Responsibilities and Duties
It is the duty and responsibility of the Behavioral Health Technician to:

complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shift as required by Incident Policy and Procedure;
assist with the planning and organization of therapeutic client activities both on and off the program campus;
conduct urine screens as requested and complete all required documentation;
facilitate and supervise all client feedback meetings;
facilitate and monitor client phone calls;
facilitate and supervise any community or in-house 12 step meetings (must be present);
complete client bed checks every 20 minutes or as requested by Program Manager and complete required documentation via emails during night runs;
complete facility security rounds and ensure all doors and gates are locked and secured when appropriate;
submit shift reports to BHT Supervisor throughout shift via email as requested;
contact BHT Supervisor in the event of a fire or evacuation of the treatment facility as required;
perform property searches on all new clients as requested and perform searches on clients returning to the program from outside activities (NO CAVITY SEARCH);
assist with other program functions as requested by BHT Supervisor including but not limited to transportation and monitoring of the front desk;
assist with providing clients cigarettes as scheduled per shift requiring staff to be in a smoking area with all clients smoking at one time; and
perform other duties as assigned.

Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

Summary: Provide training and oversight for adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Monitor and document client behavior and activities; assist and participate with educational, social and recreational activities; provide a safe and therapeutic environment; interact in a warm and compassionate manner; de-escalate volatile situations, and promote client achievement of treatment plan goals and objectives. All job duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for monitoring behavior and activities of clients in the Supervised Independent Living Facility or Housing program.
Report any concerns regarding the health, safety, or well-being of the clients to the appropriate authority.
Utilize approved behavior modification techniques to help clients learn desirable behavior; provides positive reinforcement and support to clients.
Provide clients with training or assistance with daily living skills.
Assist in the planning and implementation of the client's individual treatment plan; support client goals and encourage and assist the client in achieving these goals.
Process admission and discharge of clients; introduce client to the facility or housing program; explain all rules, policies and procedures, and program orientation.
Complete required program documentation; complete reports as required (daily, weekly, monthly, etc). Document client activities, behavior patterns, changes in behavior patterns, and reactions to medications daily.
Collect and log clients' currency and valuables upon request by client.
Supervise clients with self-administered medications.
Conduct security/safety checks; monitor visitors/clients for contraband.
Perform general cleaning responsibilities such as laundry, mopping, garbage removal, cleaning showers and restrooms, vacuuming, dusting and sanitizing all hard surfaces.
May be required to transport clients as needed.
Performs general office duties; answering telephones, making copies, filing, typing and assisting with inventory of supplies/food shipments.
Responsible for obtaining 40 hours of in service training per fiscal year.
Assist in planning, organizing and supervising group outings/special functions.
Communicates with other staff members to provide reports that are verbal as well as written in the daily communication binder about significant events that happen on that shift, which includes but is not limited to medication changes, medication deliveries, fasting lab reminders, hospitalizations, incident reports, new move ins and move outs, and other significant information that the next shift should be aware of.
Responsible for the accountability of residents at SIL facility or Housing Program on that particular shift (ex. if a client does not complete medication observation in the morning or at noon, please attempt to make contact with the client).
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience working with adults with mental illness is desirable. Some knowledge of the human services field and application of basic client care skills are also required. Applicant must possess the ability to defuse potentially harmful situations, remain calm in an emergency, implement behavior management techniques, communicate effectively in person and in writing, and accurately prepare and maintain written documentation. Able to perform all housekeeping duties as required. Operate standard office equipment and household appliances.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
