The Role
As a Manager, Regulatory Accounting, this role is responsible for oversight of the workflow to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of audit package materials. The team supports regulatory filings for 40 act mutual funds, ETFs, institutional accounts and alternative products including private credit funds. Data analysis and enrichment is a key component of the role. Requires collaboration with the management team to set direction, develop talent and lead process improvement initiatives.

The Team
The Accounting for Regulatory Reporting Compliance (ARRC) Team is responsible for delivering quality accounting system data to internal and external business partners supporting regulatory reporting requirements. The team prepares and delivers over 7k annual audit workpapers supporting mutual funds, private funds and alternative products. Fidelity's monthly regulatory reporting requirements cannot be met without our team accurately delivering this information in a timely manner. The mission of the team is to deliver quality accounting system data to internal and external business partners supporting regulatory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties
Initial onboarding of a client's account to include general ledger beginning balances.

Prepare after the fact payroll summaries and record journal entries.
Record journal entries to reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting documents.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Accountant responsibilities may include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintain general ledger and preparing month- end close procedures. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants. Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Provide input into department's goal setting process
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns as needed
• Plan, assign and review staff's work
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures
Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred

Job Description:
Facilitate and manage the preparation and review our client's federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business-related filings for our clients.
Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
Manage members of the bookkeeping & tax team as they prepare components of our client's US federal income tax return and other tax documents. Along with reviewing the financial statements prepared by the bookkeeping team & tax returns.
Plan for and develop an overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with the tax team.
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
Assist with the management of client's IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
Provide support and train staff in the taxation department
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections for clients
Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement
Facilitate Client Retention and Growth
Acquire new clientele for the company
Requirements:
Experience with both Individual and Corporate Returns
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Registered Tax Return Preparer Test completed.
Registration with the IRS with a valid PTIN. Minimum of 5 years' experience. Computer literate.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must ensure confidentiality.
Proficient with QuickBooks Payroll relief
