**Job Summary**
This position is responsible for using HACCP guidelines for safe food handling to plan, prepare and cook food according to recipe and production standards to support the hospital patients, medical staff, caregivers, volunteers, and visitors.
**Essential Functions**
+ Accurately follow and prepare recipes.
+ Prepare hot and cold food according to the recipe and following production and food styling guidelines taking into consideration customer/patient counts.
+ Maintain proper food handling techniques. Properly clean and sanitize workstation according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
+ Organize, calculate, and produce food production.
+ Maintain appropriate records according to regulatory and departmental standards.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
**Experience**
+ Minimum of 2 years Preferred: Experience as cook in a hospital or full-service kitchen preferred or combination of experience and formal culinary training that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered
**Credentials**
+ Required: Food Handlers Card - Washington
+ Preferred: Professional Culinary Institute Certificate
**Skills**
+ Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation (Required)
+ Ability to work well with others (Required)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Washes, dries and stores all cooking implements, including pots and pans as well as dishes utilized by Residents.
Monitors for proper operation of dishwashing equipment.
Monitors and records water temperatures daily.
Assists cooks as necessary in production of meals; serves food to residents in accordance with established time schedules.
Performs and monitors all facility kitchen procedures in conformance with facility safety and infection control policies.
Cleans and sanitizes dining room tables and other work areas which may include oven, counter tops, shelving, walls, ceiling, etc.
Performs other routine cleaning tasks as necessary.
Works on the resident tray-line as needed.
Collects trash and breaks down boxes and transports them to the dumpster.

Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks which includes preparation, service, clean-up and delivery of food products in support of hospital food and catering service operations using HACCP guidelines for safe food handling.
Essential Functions
· Accurately follow and prepare recipes using proper food handling techniques.
· Follow all established policies and processes for safe food handling and storage.
· Maintain appropriate records according to regulatory and department standards for food safety.
· Properly clean and sanitize workstation according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
· Organize, calculate, and produce food as directed according to the needs of the business.
· Prepare large quantities of cold foods and accompaniments according to the recipe and following production methods and food styling guidelines.
· Maintain excellent customer service and interactions.
· Prepare meals to order according to patient and customer orders. Assist with assembly of patient food trays and service of Café customers.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Must be over 18 years old. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Washington State Food Handler Card is required.
· Must have a working knowledge of basic food preparation techniques, methods, equipment, and tools used in a commercial kitchen. Must demonstrate basic knife skills.
· Experience working in healthcare or full-service commercial kitchen preferred.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Ability to work well with others.
