**PeaceHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Lead for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Night position.** **Hours: 11:00pm - 7:30am.** The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $27.24 - $40.90. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

**Job Summary**
Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter expert. Responsible to practice in a professional manner and enforcing the standards of quality assurance, infection control, DNV and other regulatory agencies.
**Details of the Position**
+ Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team.
+ Responsible for the coordination, assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases.
+ Provides in-services for new instrumentation.
+ Assists and participates in process improvement initiatives, responsible for documenting, monitoring and maintaining accurate records demonstrating high level disinfection and sterilization in accordance with current professional and regulatory agencies.
+ Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, and equipment in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.
+ Re-stocking inventory.
+ Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
+ Operate a variety of sterilization equipment.
+ Clean and maintain department equipment.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**What You Bring**
**Education**
+ High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent
**Experience**
+ Minimum of 1 year Required: Experience in a Sterile Processing setting required, with experience in all surgical specialties
+ Required: Experience with Neuro, Ortho, and General Surgical instrumentation
+ Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician course
**Credentials**
+ Required: Certified Instrument Specialist
+ Required: Natl Sterile Processing/Distribution Certification
**Skills**
+ Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)

The incumbent must possess technical skills to appropriately troubleshoot equipment issues and scope management, as well as, have a basic knowledge of GI anatomy and medical terminology. Demonstrates appropriate scope management knowledge and skills. Perform proper bedside reprocessing. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations. Demonstrates commitment to maintaining and improving departmental standards of care and practice. The incumbent may perform clinic duties, as a MA Registered, when not assisting during procedures.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
*Assist physician with procedure. Prepares room and patient for procedure, anticipates needs, maintains scopes, positions patients as directed. *Explain procedures to patient and provide instructions to ensure patient cooperation and to minimize discomfort. Provides both emotional and physical support to patients during procedure. Takes and records vital signs. Assists with admission/discharge procedures as directed. Collects, prepares and label specimen accurately. Completes all required documentation. Make post procedure phone calls when directed by RN. *Patient Safety; Reports patient finding/observations to supervisor or RN responsible for the patient in a timely fashion. *Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures according to policy. Supports and uphold established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Disinfects and cleans scopes, may complete sterile processing, and maintains work areas. *Maintains an understanding of equipment, orders supplies and maintains an adequate supply in procedure rooms, utility rooms, pre-op and recovery area. Performs clinic duties as licensure permits. *Attends educational programs, unit meetings and assigned committees. Participates in performance improvement activities and shares responsibility for orientation of new personnel (within own skill level). Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree preferred.
Surgical Technology, Anesthesia Technologist, Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant program required.
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations
Current Surgical Technologist Registration, Nursing Assistant Certification or Certified Medical Assistant licensure in the state of Washington required. Endoscopy Technician Certificate preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90-days of hire.

**Job Summary:**
