Patients of all ages-from infants to seniors-come to our sleep disorders center seeking answers and relief. As a Polysomnographic Technician, your compassion and expertise play a key role in diagnosing sleep-related conditions. Through your skilled work, you help advance our mission: to make life better for others. Responsibilities: Operates and monitors polysomnographic instrumentation, under the limited direction of the Clinical Supervisor (or lead technologist dependent on individual site structure) to perform studies of sleep and related disorders on infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The patient population is Legacy site dependent. Develops and maintains competency and knowledge in all procedures and equipment. Performs all procedures. Quality recordings, staging and scoring studies per individual Legacy site expectations. Equipment set-ups and troubleshooting are accomplished accurately and efficiently according to department and national standards. Job responsibilities are performed in accordance with written standards and professional judgment to assure a safe and orderly environment for patients, staff and self. Electrodes are applied correctly and consistently. Maintains and keeps equipment clean and in proper working order. Performs polysomnograms according to laboratory standards. Recognizes and differentiates patient and environmental artifacts. Documents patient activity during procedure. Demonstrates basic knowledge of CPAP and BiPAP equipment and supplies. Possesses knowledge of appropriate actions to take during emergency situations and ensures patient safety at all times. Attains additional knowledge and enhances skills in polysomnographic testing. There may be more than one opening on this posting.** **Job Summary:** Responsible for operating autoclaves and other equipment to clean, decontaminate and sterilize instruments and equipment, including power equipment as applicable. Also responsible for inspecting and assembling instruments, trays and packs. **Details of the Position:** + Responsible for the coordination, assembly and distribution of supplies, equipment and instruments for surgical cases. + Re-stocking inventory. + Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies. + Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in an accurate and timely manner. Assist in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service. + Operate a variety of sterilization equipment. + Clean and maintain department equipment. + Performs other duties as assigned. **What You Bring:** **Education** + High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent **Experience** + Preferred: Completion of a National Central Service Technician course and/or six months experience as a Sterile Process Technician **Credentials** + Required: within 1 Year Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or + Required: within 1 Year Certified Registered Central Service Technician **Skills** + Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required) + Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications in English. (Required) **Working Conditions:** **Lifting** + Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. + Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment, frequently. + Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 25 lbs. + Push/Pull: Frequently up to 10 lbs. force. + Reaching frequently. + Squat/ kneel occasionally. **Environmental Conditions** + Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. + Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. **Mental/Visual** + Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
