Conducts non-invasive cardiology testing which may include stress testing, Holter monitoring, and the technical functions of the pacemaker clinic. Performs initial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, safely and effectively administers individual and group exercise therapies, evaluates progress, and documents outcomes on patients to improve functional capacity and to offset the detrimental effects of inactivity. Educate on disease states, recovery, smoking cessation, hypertension, diabetes, medication compliance, nutrition, lipid management and stress management. * Upon request by Manager, assists with staff development, orientation of new staff, special projects and community programs.

* May conduct a variety of non-invasive cardiology testing including but not limited to 12 Lead EKGs, pacer clinics technical work, Holter monitoring hook ups and processing, and stress testing.
Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited Exercise Physiology or related program with a minimum bachelor's level preparation.
* 1 year of Cardiopulmonary Rehab experience and ACSM Certification.
* 60 hours of continuing education every 3 years required.

The school-centered OccupationalTherapist is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to exceptional students. 6. Coordinates and/or assists in the preparation of materials for student use.

8. Establishes realistic short-term and long-term treatment goals for the IEP, based on results of occupational therapy evaluations and considering all aspects of student's disability.
9. Plans and implements appropriate treatment programs designed to meet the student's needs, including specific procedures and activities to be used; determines through the use of the State of Florida P.T. and O.T. reporting system the extent, frequency, and expected duration of treatment; and provides yearly IEP re-evaluations of students in the occupational therapy program.
10. Develops plans, as needed, or makes appropriate recommendations for adaptive equipment, splints and/or modification of the classroom or school environment to accommodate the student.
11. Shares student-status information regularly with physical therapists so that they may work as a unified team in providing comprehensive care for the student.
12. Provides instruction in appropriate treatment procedures; handles techniques and supportive activities for students, teachers, teacher's aides and family members; supplies information by written descriptive instructions, when appropriate.
13. Provides families with information, encouragement, and support to help motivate them in their performance of treatment activities.
14. Prepares and keeps current all necessary record, including evaluations, progress notes, and records of communication.
15. Keeps personal occupational therapy knowledge and skills current through reading and active participation in educational programs.
16. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is very heavy work which requires the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing wheelchairs, pulling, lifting and positioning students, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and visual acuity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Transports supplies and equipment to a variety of sites for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items as needed.
* Administers occupational therapy procedures and modalities for the purpose of achieving program objectives.
* Assesses students' fine and gross motor skills and functional abilities (e.g. perceptual-motor, hand functions, motor
coordination, sensory development, muscle strength, etc.) for the purpose of determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment, appropriate assistive devices and/or school access.
* Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (e.g. parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel, team members, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
* Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, making recommendations and/or coordinating occupational therapy services with those of other disciplines.
* Instructs students and staff for the purpose of providing information on medical/behavioral attributes, use of assistive devices and/or implementing plans for remediation of functional limitations.
* Interprets medical reports for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate.
* Prepares a wide variety of data and written materials (e.g. activity logs, correspondence, memos, treatment plans, child accounting, access, reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
* Provides direct occupational therapy service for the purpose of developing students daily living skills in compliance with established goals and objectives.
* Develops ER's and IEP's, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of remediating students' motor skill deficits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Directs the work of assigned COTAs for the purpose of providing guidance and ensuring that program objectives are achieved.
* Identifies structural issues for the purpose of removing barriers for students with physical limitations and/or identifying appropriate assistive technology.
* Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports, activity logs, ER's and IEP's, treatment plans, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance.
* Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. professional development, IEPs, team meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
* Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional goals.
* Responds to inquiries (e.g. parents, teachers, staff, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or referral as appropriate.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in job related area.

I. Summary of Classification
The OccupationalTherapist (OT) serves as a member of the multidisciplinary Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. II. Job Goal

III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Evaluation: Conducts comprehensive, culturally responsive evaluations to determine a student's functional levels in areas such as fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and activities of daily living (ADL).
* IEP Development: Collaborates with the IEP team to develop measurable, educationally relevant goals.
* Service Delivery: Implements direct and indirect therapeutic interventions to promote functional outcomes in the "least restrictive environment."
* Adaptive Strategies: Recommends, designs, and trains students and staff in the use of assistive technology and environmental modifications.
* Consultation & Training: Provides professional development and "carryover" strategies to teachers, parents, and staff to support student success throughout the school day.
* Compliance & Documentation: * Maintains accurate records in the Maryland Online IEP (MOIEP) system.
* Ensures all timelines for evaluations and annual reviews meet IDEA and COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations) mandates.
* Completes Medicaid (Medical Assistance) billing documentation according to state and federal requirements.
* Progress Monitoring: Regularly collects data to reflect measurable progress and adjusts intervention strategies based on student performance.
IV. Requirements & Qualifications
Educational & Licensing Requirements
* Degree: Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited institution.
* Maryland Licensure: Must hold a current, valid license from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
* Certification: Eligible for or holds MSDE OccupationalTherapist certification.
Knowledge and Skills
* Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pediatric development and clinical practices across a wide range of disabilities.
