Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
Perform all work in a safe and professional manner
Perform plant maintenance
Maintain clean work areas including catwalks, walk-ways and general plant area
Proactively learn plant functions and operations
Obtain all knowledge to complete assigned tasks
Take direction from and work in a team with all other site personnel
Cross train to learn all jobs of plant and be able to substitute when necessary

Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR related experience and/or training
A combination of education and experience may be considered
Effective verbal and written communication
Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
3+ months related experience
Experience operating heavy equipment
Strong preference for Loader operation experience
Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
MSHA or other relevant safety certification

* Perform basic tree care operations such as pruning and limb removal on the ground and in small to medium sized trees (up to 60 feet in height)
* Access a tree safely according to company protocols after having made all the necessary inspections and assessments. Safely and efficiently move throughout the canopy and remove branches without causing damage or injury
* Safe operation of powered equipment such as chippers, trucks, and blowers

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
3+ months related experience
Experience operating heavy equipment
Strong preference for Loader operation experience
Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
MSHA or other relevant safety certification

Communication Groundperson
The Communication Groundperson position is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. A groundman's primarily responsible for performing support tasks for fiber cable construction, repair, or maintenance.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Securing the safety of yourself and others
Assisting fellow line-workers in meeting project objectives
Readily joining storm restoration efforts in times of need
Operating vehicles and equipment in a professional manner
Continuing training to improve technical and leadership skills
Tasks:
Works safely while performing new fiber cable construction, maintenance, or repair work
Properly inspects rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order
Able to perform rigorous physical labor
Capable of receiving and following directions
Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather
Does all other related work as required to complete the job
