Job Description: As a DAS-ERRCS Testing Technician, you will be responsible for performing testing, troubleshooting, and compliance verification of Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems (ERRCS/DAS). This includes conducting preliminary site testing, post-installation acceptance testing, and annual inspections to ensure systems meet all performance and jurisdictional requirements. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and inspectors to ensure accurate results and successful project completion. Key Responsibilities: Perform benchmark, acceptance, post-installation, and annual testing of DAS/ERRCS systems. Conduct system inspections, including verifying backup battery systems and overall functionality. Use specialized RF test equipment (PC-Tel, spectrum analyzers, PIM testers) to measure and document system performance. Conduct grid testing to confirm coverage compliance with local fire code requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve RF coverage issues, connectivity problems, and alarm conditions. Verify interconnectivity between fire alarm systems and DAS/ERRCS systems. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project plans to support testing and commissioning. Assist with cable terminations (fiber optic and coaxial), programming, and commissioning of DAS/ERRCS equipment. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to meet deadlines and compliance standards. Maintain accurate documentation of all testing, inspections, and commissioning work. Qualifications: 15+ years of experience as a DAS/ERRCS, telecom, or low-voltage technician. Strong knowledge of RF principles, antenna theory, and wireless infrastructure. Experience with fiber optic and coaxial cabling (termination, testing, troubleshooting). Preferred certifications: FCC GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) NICET In-Building Public Safety Communications Manufacturer-specific (e.g., PC-Tel, Anritsu) OSHA 10/30 Excellent communication and documentation skills.
