Job Summary
The Evening Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the evening workflow and ensuring the continuation of pharmacy management goals within the dispensing pharmacy. This role involves providing comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. Strong management skills and attention to detail are essential to ensure that the appropriate drug product reaches the customer efficiently and safely.

Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as scheduled or required by management.
Ensure workflow dashboard is cleared daily.
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

The successful candidate will have experience working with behavioral health clients, able to communicate effectively, work well with pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff, and have familiarity with word processing and pharmacy software systems (experience with a Pyxis system is preferred).
The candidate will need to have successfully graduated from a US accredited pharmacy program. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection is required.

Job Summary: The Clinical/Staff Pharmacist has a dual job focus on staffing the main pharmacy and leading clinical initiatives, as outlined below.
Clinical Initiatives include:
Collaborate with other departments to research and write protocols and policies.
Antimicrobial Stewardship
Pharmacist Driven Protocols
Medical Staff Rounding
Drug Information
USP 800, 797 and 795 competencies, policies, assessment of risk, master formulations records and other compounding documentation.
Staff Education
Staffing Duties include:
Order verification, Pharmacist Driven Protocols and monitoring
Medication Reconciliation
Medication dispensing and Pyxis management
Technician Staff management and supervision
Medication compounding
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
Previous leadership experience preferred
Current or recent hospital pharmacy experience required
Current State of CT Pharmacy license required
WORK SCHEDULE: On-site, full-time, salaried, including a weekend and holiday rotation

Under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, provides advanced pharmaceutical care by assisting in the development and coordination of clinical pharmacy services and educational programs for the Department. Responsible for providing tools and educational opportunities to enhance services provided by all staff members. Participates on intra- and interdepartmental committees as assigned. Serves as preceptor to pharmacy students and residents as assigned.
Participates in the development of institution-wide drug use policies. Perform a variety of duties involving the receiving, storage, compounding and dispensing of medications and supplies. Responsible for the assessment of patient drug therapy, review of drug interactions, incompatibilities, drug induced adverse effects, and appropriate drug doses. Documents the care provided to patients. Participates in supervision of technical staff. Reports to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced degree required (PharmD). Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy. Must have current pharmacist license in State of Connecticut. Three to five years in-patient pharmacy experience required or completed PGY1 residency. In addition to a PharmD and residency/fellowship, board certification in a pharmacy specialty within the first 3 years of employment is required. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with multiple levels of personnel/interdisciplinary teams, with tact and confidentiality. Must be proficient in all aspects of compounding, preparing and dispensing drugs. Must have working knowledge of federal and state laws as they pertain to drug procurement, storage, dispensing, etc. Must demonstrate ability to maintain a collaborative practice relationship with physicians and other health care professionals.
