JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in Recreational Therapy or relevant licensure or certification per State of Ohio practice guidelines.
Experience: : Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

Job Description
The Crisis Intervention Jail Therapist performs Crisis and Risk assessments with clients referred in the Jail flagged as “At Risk of Harm” to self or others; determining Level of Risk and providing referral and recommendation to Jail and Medical staff. They will provide follow up assessments until inmate is assessed as “Low Risk”.
Services include providing Diagnostic Assessments, Counseling and case management to inmates identified as needing services, collaborating on client's behalf with Jail staff, medical staff, and representatives of the court and legal system, family and outpatient providers, and providing client with linkage to appropriate resources upon release from Jail. Services are provided in an integrated manner and appropriate level of intensity.
The Crisis Intervention Jail Therapist provides training, recommendations and consultation as needed to the Jail, medical staff, court, and legal representatives.
Administrative responsibilities including attending data tracking and external trainings as directed, attending designated meetings, consulting in program planning and evaluation, and working collaboratively with team members to provide services in the Jail as well as link inmates upon release. Completion of all required case documentation, including collateral contacts following agency policy and best practices is required, as is following all relevant agency standards or regulations.
The Crisis intervention Jail Therapist is cross trained in Crisis Intervention duties in the community, mobile crisis, and participates in cross training other Crisis staff on Jail services.
Additional duties as assigned; some travel required within Fairfield County.
Requirements
Must have at minimum a Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology. Must possess licensure (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC). Prefer two years post-licensure experience. Must be able to provide clinical services in the community and work cooperatively with the hospitals, probate court, and other agencies. Must meet system requirements for appointment as Health Officer, or at minimum for probationary Health Officer status. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs diagnostic and assessment specific to First Episode Psychosis and Early Severe Mental Illness Programs. Provides specialized evidenced-based practices to individuals experiencing FEP/ESMI in the last 2 years of onset. Functions as a part of a Coordinated Specialized Care Team and provides referral and linkage to appropriate services in the community, within parameters of the funding sources. Outpatient services to include: Provides individual, family and group psychotherapy, and individual/family psychoeducation to individuals (ages 15-35) with first episode of psychosis and individuals (ages 15-35) with early severe mental illness. Psychotherapy services include enhancement of: psychological and social functioning; self-esteem; coping abilities; vocational, educational and social opportunities. Develops and maintains Individual Service Plans. Provides client with linkage to appropriate resources, including psychiatry, case management, supported employment. Provides services in an integrated manner and appropriate level of intensity.
Provides training, including in-services and preceptorships as needed and directed by supervisor. Performs related administrative functions including submitting data tracking, required assessments, and external trainings as directed. Attends designated meetings. Consults in program planning and evaluation. Work collaboratively with team members to market and promote agency treatment options for patients with FEP/ESMI.
Completes all required case documentation within 24 hours, including collateral contacts following agency policy and best practices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities: Provide face-to-face emergency services to adults, adolescents and children. This includes prescreens for hospitalization, crisis stabilization planning and implementation in the walk-in clinic and mobile in the community. Other services include clinical services provided to clients and other inmates in the Fairfield County Jail. Crisis Intervention workers must be available to work varying shifts and willing to rotate crisis and jail shifts.
Answers calls and provides triage services. Provides consultation to local ED, nearby psychiatric hospitals, and other relevant professionals.
Completes all documentation in providing emergency services. This includes but is not limited to: CI assessment, diagnostic assessments, suicide risk assessments in the jail, pink slips, affidavits, client's rights, releases, service coordination and linkage, and other required CI documents.
