Purpose
The QA Technologist provides operational support and drives quality initiatives within the Euclid Consumable Division. This role ensures that process audits, inspection, and testing procedures are well-defined and contribute to continuous improvement in quality. The QA Technologist will manage warranty systems, review customer warranties, enhance the non-conformance process, and implement corrective action requests.
Long Description
Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues across Consumable products.
Develop, document, and maintain procedures for daily quality operations.
Establish and support training programs for QA technicians.
Support and continuously improve the Non-Conformance system.
Manage customer-facing issues through the Warranty System.
Issue and maintain stop-ship actions, and drive improvements to the stop-ship process.
Leverage data from quality systems to enhance visibility, streamline actions, identify trends, and improve overall quality performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Methods, Plant Engineering, R&D, and Specials to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support certification reviews and approvals.
Assist in developing and maintaining quality process control methodologies.
Utilize computers, databases, and software tools associated with the Quality Program.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years (Level I Technician) of related experience (5+ years preferred Level III Technician)
Preferred knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What You Will Do
The QA Technician will support various functions and activities to include covering internal ISO audits as well as other external bodies such as NIOSH. In addition, you will:
• Plan and conduct internal ISO9001 Quality Audits according to schedule; work closely with all departments inclusive of ISO9001
• Use audit guidelines, checklists and prior audit results to determine audit paths
• Gather and document objective evidence during audit interview process; determine whether quality activities comply with specifications, procedures, and standards
• Record and document audit results in the company's online audit system and review the results of the audit with the Department Manager of the area being audited.
• Complete corrective action determinations including associated risk assessments
• Draft corrective actions and action items in a clear and compelling way for use by others
• Conduct verifications of corrective actions and action items including verification using objective evidence
• Guide, support and answer third party quality audits and surveys including all required correspondence
• Perform work center, finished product and process audits, as required
• Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, Work Instructions Specifications and Plant Rules and Regulations that are associated with the performance of this job
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager

Education & Experience Requirements
• Technician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR high school diploma/GED with 7+ years experience in a relevant work environment.
• Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR high school diploma/GED with 10+ years' experience in a relevant work environment.
• Additional training and or knowledge in the quality auditor field and procedures is desirable

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee of this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of this position.
The laboratory work involves dealing with Copper, Aluminum, Titanium, and Superalloys and Steels, Specialty alloys and engineered materials.
To get familiarized with the RAW MATERIALS (like Copper alloys, Aluminum alloys, Titanium alloys, Superalloys, Specialty steels and any other materials that Weldaloy deals with in Ingots, billets, bars etc.) and the customer flowed down requirements for these materials. (Via Purchase orders, Drawings, Specifications, and any other documents).
Operate equipment for sectioning, mounting, and polishing for preparing metallographic samples for the regular standalone mounted samples. Need to also etch the prepared metallographic specimens and develop etching techniques too. The prepared and etched samples are to be examined using optical microscopes and take photomicrographs and make digital pictures of microstructures at different magnifications as required and also affixing the micron markers. Machinist skills and CNC programming experience desirable.
Similar techniques as above need to be used to do microstructures at some specified spots on the forged parts or the raw materials. This is called “in-situ metallography or “Spot metallography” or “Spot microscopy.”
Assess the grain size of the microstructure and understand the microstructures of some standard regular materials.
Required to also prepare samples for Chemical and mechanical testing too.
Multitasking while performing prep work and analysis efficiently.
Work with Engineers and other Managers on projects.
Familiarizing with AMS2750G, pyrometry, NADCAP requirements regarding forge and heat treatment, and laboratory functions.
Raising Corrective Action Reports (CARs), conducting and advising corrections for implementation.
Plan and schedule tests under the supervision of Laboratory Supervisor & Metallurgist.
Ability to learn and operate testing equipment (like chemical, mechanical and metallographic) and perform testing per standard procedures. Record all data and results in a specified manner per instructions from the Laboratory Supervisor & Metallurgist and/or Chemist.
Ability to successfully operate laptop computers for spreadsheets, charts and report writing (Microsoft Office and Outlook).
Maintain laboratory environment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
Work with customers on an as-needed basis within the scope of job requirements.
Systematic receipt, labeling and analyzing and maintain identity and traceability of laboratory samples. Safe storage and retrieval of samples as per customer requirements.
Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
Conduct failure analysis investigations on various forms of failures.
Participate in New Process and Product Development (NP2D).
Should be involved and help in lab audits by accreditation agencies and/or customers.
Prepare Standard Operating Procedures as advised by Lab Supervisor & Metallurgist.

Working Conditions:
This position is designed to work full-time. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40hours per week). What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs.
