JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Sensory Lab Coordinator leads the organization, implementation, and maintenance of Sensory Lab programs and documentation, creating a safe and efficient workspace in which team members can complete sensory tests with excellence. **JOB SUMMARY:**
The Senior Sensory Lab Coordinator leads the organization, implementation, and maintenance of Sensory Lab programs and documentation, creating a safe and efficient workspace in which team members can complete sensory tests with excellence. Summary Provide technical expertise and drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality and reliability of Ranpak paper products. Work with Materials, Manufacturing, Engineering and others to qualify new paper suppliers through the paper approval process. Monitor incoming raw paper and
finished product to ensure compliance with Ranpak specifications. Communicate with new and existing
paper mills to refine internal specifications. Work with plant managers at all facilities to investigate
paper complaints, identify root cause and define/implement preventive measures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform incoming and in-process testing for paper and tissue under guidance of Sr. paper specialist.
• Perform testing of sample paper sent back due to customer complaints and assist with root cause analysis. Create test reports.
• Create metrics with test results and interact with all levels of members.
• Review and maintain supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis) records and Ranpak paper grade specifications.
• Support Sr. paper specialist and other quality functions as needed
• Perform paper grade testing and quality testing according to paper approval process.
• Communicate with technical supplier representatives to troubleshoot when issues arise and refine Ranpak specifications.
• Train new employees about paper lab, attributes of new paper and Ranpak testing procedures.
• Provide support to satellite paper-converting facilities.
Qualifications
• Associates degree or High School education and combination of 6 -8 years experience.
• 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, prefer paper packaging industry experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have basic mathematics proficiency (ability to review data, create metrics with results).
• Mechanical aptitude, continuous improvement mindset and learning attitude.
• Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, etc.
• Ability to use SAP and Infor LN (ERP system) to retrieve information and process orders.
• Travel to satellite plants and paper mills (up to 10%).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
