Summary
The SurgicalTechnician assists with the nursing care of the patients in the OR by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice and policy and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse at all times. The SurgicalTechnician serves as a scrub nurse, but not independently as a circulating nurse. Other duties include stocking, replenishing, preparing, and/or selecting supplies and equipment for storage or use during surgical procedures. The SurgicalTechnician assists with housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the OR. Activities are directed toward achieving desired patient outcomes. The SurgicalTechnician demonstrates the ability to interpret information to identify the patient's age specific needs and provides appropriate care for the age group in question. The SurgicalTechnician performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications
High school graduate or GED
Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent, or On The Job Training
Basic Life Support
Certification in the field preferred
Minimum Experience
Clinical experience of at least one year, or graduate of Surgical tech program

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Requirements
Education: Graduate of Surgical tech. Program.
Experience: Clinical experience of at least one year
Certification in the field preferred
