Your Opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities

What You Will Do for ESA

* Familiarity with utility environmental review process and permitting assessment process, and a general understanding of local municipal planning and/or biological resource constraints with in the Northern California region is required.
* Experience with the review and development of project descriptions/scope of work.
* Lead a team of planners and support all phases of the execution and delivery of utility operations and maintenance projects.
* Work with, direct, and coordinate with teams including biologist and archeologist. Maintain timeliness and quality of assessments for environmental projects. This role will also include support to project management teams.
* Experience within electric and/or gas utility projects and experience with MS Excel is preferred. Understanding preparation of the release to construction (RTC) process for utility clients and ability to direct and work with multiple disciplines is preferred.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Required:
* Minimum 3 years of experience performing environmental planning and permitting work for California Independent Operated Utilities (IOUs).
* Minimum 5 years of experience performing linear facility (i.e., utility or transportation) environmental planning, permitting, and/or biological work.
* Strong research, analysis and reporting abilities.
* Detail oriented and capable of managing large data sets.
* Team-oriented professional with excellent written and communication skills.
* Experience within electric and/or gas utility projects.
* Proficiency with MS Excel.
* Should be familiar with review and analysis of scientific data, maps, and drawings.
* Provide support in delivering high quality work products to Stantec's multi-disciplinary project teams.
* Strong skills as a self-starter
* An ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
* CEQA/NEPA experience a plus.
* CPUC experience a plus.
* CEC experience a plus.
* Ability to identify opportunities and build relationships with clients.
Education and Experience
Basic: BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Urban, Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field. Min 3-5 years of utility work, minimum 5-8 years of planning experience.
Preferred: Master's degree in Biology, Urban, Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Work from home can be accommodated.

Pay Range:
* Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 83,200.00 - Max Salary $ 120,600.00
* Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 91,500.00 - Max Salary $ 132,700.00
* Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 104,800.00 - Max Salary $ 152,000.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
