**POSITION SUMMARY** **:**
Position is responsible supervising liquid production areas at the West Jefferson, OH facility and for the training, scheduling and development of 15 - 20 employees. This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. This is an overnight position.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
+ Provides a safe work environment for all personnel.
+ Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
+ Requests and directs services of maintenance, sanitation and other personnel as may be necessary to achieve the desired level and quality of production, sanitation, safety and warehouse services.
+ Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
+ Responsible for ingredient usage and all other department costs.
+ Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (i.e. timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.).
+ Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
+ Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production.
+ Keeps operations manager informed on operating and/or employee problems, quality, safety and/or control costs of production.
+ Maintains consistent communications and monthly department meetings.
+ Provides a safe working environment.
+ Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
+ Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
+ Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
+ 2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
+ Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision.
+ Must have strong organizational skills and ability to do multi-functional tasks.
+ Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required
+ Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations.

Works closely with USDA.
Reviews all paperwork to ensure proper procedures are followed. Investigates and escalates issues as appropriate.
Assists with facility, customer, and third-party audits and audit preparation. Responsible for daily SOP audits.
Participates in investigation of product failures and customer complaints. May provide recommended solution to management team.
Communicates with all levels of management to ensure they maintain control of the process.
Identifies opportunities and supports creation and implementation of plant processes and/or product improvement projects.
Maintains the technical expertise of team with recurring training in all areas with their functional area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews result of productivity and returns reports and compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
Follows up on all customer requests and questions to ensure appropriate response is made and customer is satisfied.
Treats all customers (both internal and external) with respect, courtesy and kindness.

All warehouse activities shipping, receiving, slotting, sanitation, equipment, and truck loading.
Checks all shipped orders.

Sets loading schedule each night.
Check pick sheets for any errors or mis-keyed items.
Security of facility after daily business hours.
Prepares work schedules and expedites work flow.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Uses computer to enter records.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves problems.
Makes decisions at night after regular business hours.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee.
Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.

Compensation:
The starting salary range for this position is $70,000, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Assists with tasks such as monitoring and determining manufacturing costs and outlay, quality and quantity of goods produced, production methods, tooling applications and ensures the effective use of production hours, skills, machines, equipment and facilities
Interacts with engineers to modify machines, equipment and/or processes to improve safety, production and overall quality; provides liaison support between plant and engineering to ensure efficient manufacturing processes
Uses data to estimate work-hour requirements and departmental efficiencies for continuous improvement projects. Recommends and initiates projects; sees those projects through to deadline with measurable improvements
Manages costs and budgets and provide corrective action plans to improve budgetary control
Inspects materials and finished product for quality compliance as required
Perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

Job Skills Requirements
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, procedures and production/quality standards
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple internal departments to ensure on-time delivery of quality product
May require in-depth ability to read, interpret and explain blueprints, engineering drawings, job orders and specifications based on location
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with and motivate a diverse group of employees
Advanced ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of personnel and production problems
Strong computer skills and familiarity with office productivity software and business control software such as SAP
Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced production environment, often under time constraints
Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Experience Requirements
Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment including previous experience managing personnel in a production environment with High school diploma

Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience and education.
Experience working in the poultry business preferred.
3-5 years direct experience in plant operations at a supervisory level and above.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise hourly employees in the plant. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. There will also be special projects that this position will oversee.
