Working as a Hygienist with us: 60 min recall appointments: We prioritize quality care with dedicated time for each patient. Modern and Safe Practice Environments: Enjoy working in a contemporary dental setting mindful of compliance and safety. RESPONSIBILITES: Providing a high level of concierge care with exceptional chair side manners, building trust with our patients. Enhancing overall oral health by identifying signs of periodontal disease or potential oral cancers. Thoroughly documenting and reviewing detailed patient medical histories and chief complaints. Taking x-rays and intraoral images to aide in treatment planning and note any progress/changes. Conducting precise oral hygiene procedures aligned with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Proficiently handle emergency measures in response to sudden adverse developments during patient treatment. Provide instructions for at-home care and oral health maintenance. QUALIFICATIONS: Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in respective state Current CPR (BLS) Certification. Exceptional working knowledge of comprehensive dentistry, encompassing dental hygiene procedures, patient screening, and meticulous documentation. Cornerstone Care is seeking a Dental Hygienist for its West Mifflin, PA, location. RESPONSIBILITIES: Seats, positions, and dismisses scheduled hygiene patients. Completes preliminary clinic forms. Reviews medical history and discuss any problems with the dentist. Provides patient education in toothbrush instruction, flossing demonstration, and any additional information as required. Performs prophylaxis, i.e. supragingival scaling, subgingival scaling, root planing, gingivalcurrettage, polishing. Takes, processes and mounts radiographs for hygiene patients as deemed necessary by the dentist Applies topical fluoride on children. Assists with first aid procedures. Maintains recall system and sends reminder letters to patients for their recall appointment. Receives and maintains updated CPR training. A dental hygienist may perform any duty delegated to the dental assistant. She may be called upon to assist if there are no hygiene patients available. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requirements for this position include: Dental Hygiene license X-Ray Certification, Public Health License preferred. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general and direct supervision of the Dental Director, provides oral hygiene services to patients with special emphasis on prevention of gingival and periodontal disease, as well as the provision of oral health education. Provider will create excellent and accurate progress notes in EDR. Pain scale will be completed every visit. Consent forms will be completed and reviewed prior to treatment. Treatment provided will be billed accurately and appropriately. These duties should be performed within the direction of state of Massachusetts License Board. PRODUCTIVITY: Hygienists are expected to provide a minimum of 1,800 visits a year (based on a 1.0 FTE). Hygienists are expected to produce a minimum of $25,000 in revenue per month (based on a 1.0 FTE). WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Works in a busy community health center in a high crime, urban neighborhood. Interruptions are present and can be disruptive to workflow. Stress is present due to high volume of work, diversified nature of activities and frequent crises and deadlines. Performs other employee duties to cover staff absences. Works overtime as needed for emergencies or to meet project deadlines. The individual must be in good health of mind and body with the physical dexterity and vision suitable to accomplish the job duties outlined above. Knowledge of proper patient transfer assistance is also required and the ability to lift as much as 25 pounds may be necessary. As part of the direct responsibilities, the employee will have direct exposure to toxic chemicals and infectious materials.
