Job Summary Perform general grounds maintenance duties as assigned by the crew leader and supervisor. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Operate assigned equipment safely and in the manner that it was intended, avoiding damage to the surroundings, people, other property, and the equipment itself. Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s) * High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred. * Commercial grounds maintenance experience preferred. * Must be able to gain access to Ft. Bragg Army base. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words, as well as recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. * Ability to print and speak simple sentences. * Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. * Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables. What a day is like: Daily focus is working together overseeing a Landscaping crew to provide high quality tree care to our clients. The Landscaping Team is involved in all aspects of pruning, removals, planting and other concepts related to landscaping. Team members are able to safely operate all equipment and perform the assigned job tasks while also providing excellent service to our clients. What kind of person are we looking for? Someone with: Requires frequent standing, kneeling, walking, pulling, reaching, stooping and bending. Requires walking primarily on uneven turf or rocky areas while on job sites. May be exposed to moderate to loud work environments. These areas will require the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection. Will be exposed to dust, dyes, grease, odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small and large engine equipment, skid steers, and loaders. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
