The Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader is a hands-on position in charge of managing the day-to-day operations of all contracted work to be performed on an assigned jobsite. Areas of supervision include landscape installation, irrigation system installation, management of subcontractors and performing certain planning, administrative and regulatory functions. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this position will be responsible for the performance of maintenance services within the community. Primary focus will include but not limited to: exterior electrical lighting repair and maintenance, sump pump and motor preventative maintenance and inspection, exterior building maintenance including roofing & siding repairs, exterior surface cleaning, minor carpentry, and minor masonry work. Operating Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Education/Training: * Combination of 5+ years experience and education performing maintenance work within all or most of the trades described. The Foreman in Training (FIT) role is a hands-on position to learn from and assist the Crew Leader with managing the operations of all assigned jobsites. Areas of foreman training include landscape installation, irrigation system installation, management of subcontractors and performing certain planning, administrative and regulatory functions. The site supervisor will read job plans and specifications to install materials consistent with those specifications as well as Bland Landscaping Company criteria. Wear company-issued PPE, including sturdy footwear, eye protection, and hearing protection, as required. Maintain safe operation and routine care of assigned tools, vehicles, and equipment. Qualifications & Certifications: Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and maintain a clean motor vehicle record (CDL preferred). Ability to pass a criminal background check. Willingness to obtain a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator's License, if not already certified. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, train, and motivate crew members. What You'll Do As a Landscape Crew Leader, you'll lead the charge on high-impact landscape installations, working closely with your team to bring residential and commercial projects to life. You'll handle everything from grading and excavation to patios, walls, and plantings - all while keeping safety, efficiency, and quality at the forefront. You'll read blueprints, plan ahead for materials and phases, and ensure your crew has the tools, equipment, and support they need to execute each job successfully. You'll work closely with project consultants, guide on-site client conversations, and make field adjustments as needed to keep things moving smoothly. You'll also play a key role in training new team members, enforcing safety, and setting the tone for a productive, respectful job site. When challenges come up, you'll be the one who finds a solution and keeps the project on track. This role blends craftsmanship, coordination, and leadership - and no two days look the same. What You Bring At least 3 years of landscape installation experience, including pavers, retaining walls, grading, and plantings Strong leadership skills and the ability to teach others while staying hands-on A Class C license or willingness to obtain one (CDL a plus) Confidence reading blueprints and planning job site layout A sharp eye for detail and pride in clean, professional work Ability to operate heavy equipment like skid steers, dingo, excavators, paver vacuums, and saws Excellent communication skills for working with teammates, consultants, and clients Strong organizational habits to manage tools, paperwork, materials, and schedules A dependable and proactive approach to field problem-solving Comfort working outdoors in all weather and lifting up to 80 lbs regularly Compensation and Benefits Hours: Typical hours are 7:00 am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with some weekends, subject to weather and seasonal changes.
