Job Summary and Qualifications * Position Summary: The Central Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for the activities related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments. He/she will also be able to provide all necessary supplies for assembly for procedures. The technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC. * Position Requirements * Licensure/Certification/Registration: Centra lService certification preferred / not required * Education: High school diploma/GED preferred. * Experience: One to three years' experience as a Central Sterile Technician or Operating Room Technician preferred. * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic to advanced knowledge in the role of instrumentation as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments.
